Unless Big Ben McDonald is calling for the Networks, I listen to the voice of the Tigers.

Thank you. I see I started LOTS of "where to watch" threads. I hope Chicken can update the list and repost for this game.
I appreciate your computer skills to get this done.

Places to watch the game thread?
Posted by swamp witch on 10/31/11 at 4:15 pm
I know there will be lots of posts asking the best place to watch the game around the country/world.
I'll be in Conroe, TX so I'm looking for the best LSU bar that area. Woodrow's in Houston (my preference) is out due to distance and schedule; so let's see what else is good.
Thanks Tiger Fans.

re: Microwave Convection Oven
Posted by swamp witch on 1/14/11 at 9:35 pm to David Wooderson
We love our Velos Series Whirlpool Gold combination microwave/convection/vent . I have a convection oven in my range but this microwave/convection/vent is a great addition especially at holiday time or when I don't want to heat up the kitchen.
We've made pizza, pies, cookies, steamed veggies and the thing has an easy clean surface so my hubbie can splatter stuff all over and it's a simple wipe down for cleaning. No sprays or steaming the microwave to soften food bits. It came with a wire rack to raise the food so the convection feature can work.
It was really strange putting something metal in that oven, but since we were using the convection feature, there were no micro-waves to make sparks.
We love it. Wouldn't trade it and hubby said when we sell the house, we take the microwave with us.

Saute Crab fingers, home made French bread for dipping. Will serve some special wing drummets and any other nibbles I can think of between now and grocery shopping.
We have tiramisu for dessert

I not only like them, I make them. I don't put any spices. It's like a regular yellow cake with fruit. Most of the ones you buy suck badly.

The Eunice Superette in Eunice, LA.

CLM is not the package we'd like to have. He's not smooth or cool; nor does he have a great rapport with the media(a la Pete Carroll.) BUT our program is not on probation and losing scholarships. CLM has represented LSU well to future student athletes and has kept the pump primed with outstanding talent. Like many, I just wish he could do more with what he has.
Opinions are like . . . well you know. Here's mine. I was embarrassed to win in the way LSU won this game. It was embarrassing to lose to Ole Miss last year in nearly the same fashion. We in Louisiana have a number of truly important things we should be focused on other than how ugly LSU wins a football game.
Just sayin'.

Gauging interest in a Pho restaurant for Lafayette
Posted by swamp witch on 8/28/10 at 9:01 am
Was discussing with VN friends the need for a Pho place in Lafayette. They believe it wouldn't take as most VN people eat at home. I told them we drive to Baton Rouge to eat VN food and there may be others.
Noodle House is good, but they serve Cambodian style food.
Ok you Lafayette folks, what are your thoughts?

My hubby loves the way I prepare some blue points for the bbq. For a dozen select cleaned and dressed crabs,
10-15 cloves of garlic finely minced.
1 stick butter melted
3 Tablespoons worchestershire sauce.
Place crab on a cookie sheet and season with white pepper and cayenne. Then spread the garlic and butter mixture over all of the crabs. Let crabs marinate for about an hour before putting them on a hot grill. Cook til done.

Have eaten there 3 times.
Twice for lunch once for breakfast.
Good, quality food. Fresh ingredients.
I had the beef chili relleno.
Husband had the chimichanga.
Rice and beans excellent.
Ranchero sauce made fresh.
The owners are the cooks.
The one time I ate breakfast, I ordered off the menu; migas. Perfect.
I recommend it.
Happy dining.
