That's pretty abundantly clear to me after watching the games this season. The first snap JJ comes in last game we had 12 people break the huddle but it didn't get called. I would be willing to bet the same type of scenario will occur in a game like @Bama or @Tenn that will result in a fumble, penalty, or wasted timeout which may end up being a game changer. Like it or not, with ONE qb at the helm, namely JL, we finally have had an offensive identity for the first time in several years. If it's not broken why try to fix it?

I honestly think our offense will produce more points, have less three and outs, and operate more effectively with JL at the helm than trying to switch Jefferson in in red-zone or short yardage situations. Miles' insistence on this switch up will probably cost us a game and a shot at the NC this year. At least now we know that next year's team will be Mettenberger's, but I hate to see this year's team potential be adversely impacted from Miles' 2 QB decision.

the offense is fun to watch again (minus to abundant drops yesterday) and people want to bring in JJ to burn time outs and have penalties with confusion on offense?

unreal.

gluttons for punishment I guess.

Couldn't agree with this post more. Lee has improved every game except for Kentucky which was easily his worst game in my opinion. So far our qb play has been better than it has the past two years. Why mess with it? Last year neither qb could ever get in a rhythm with all the switching in and out. Lee has been playing well so far this year, and then we bring in JJ for a 1 yard TD on the goal line. I mean say we do a play action and let Lee dump that off for a TD pass. I don't care that it's only one yard pass. It still boosts his confidence and gets him going. I'm not saying that Lee is weak mentally and can't play with Jefferson back on the team. What I'm saying is that even if you are Drew Brees, you play better when you are given the whole game to work with rather than switching in and out with somebody.

What makes you think Les will throw JJ out there every game? He put JJ in for one play in the first half and again when the team was up 28-0. There is no proof that Les will continue to rotate both QBs throughout the rest of the season.

I love how everyone thinks the sky is falling because JJ ran some option plays

The other issue with this is that in the first 4 games, Lee knew he could just go out there and play his game without fear of getting pulled. Miles can tell Lee he's the starter until he's blue in the face, but he's going to know that JJ is standing on the sideline waiting to come in to replace him. Lee played tighter yesterday than in any game thus far, and I don't think it's just coincidental that it was JJ's first game back.

Mett needs to be taken out of this equation. If we're relying on Mett for anything significant this year, our chances of going where we need to go are significantly reduced.

Ding ding ding!!!! Post of the day!!!

I've been saying this in numerous different threads since yesterday.

No other team in the nation has mass confusion getting plays in or proper personnel in numerous different situations like LSU does with a 2 QB system.

I don't care which 1 it is, but we need 1 playing and the other ready if the starter is injured ala Jeff Brantley.

How was Jefferson supposed to know they were going to run in another TE as they were about to break the huddle? It is the job of the player entering to call out the player he is replacing before entering the huddle.

If you have 2 QB's, then nothing. I am in the camp that doesn't mind seeing JJ get some snaps but do it by giving him a whole drive. Putting one QB out there to run plays and then running another QB out there to run one play is a path to disaster.

Les, LSU, and all the fans got lucky last season that JL was able to run out there on 3rd and long and covert a few times to save games. I don't think that is a sound coaching strategy.

I called it the JJ Effect on the scoreboard yesterday and was blasted for it. Our offense sputters and is out of synch when he is in it. I do like the run dimension, but Ford and Ware were a pretty good 1-2, 2-1 punch in the first 4 games without a mobile QB.

we need to get mett real snaps against horrible teams. yesterday should have been that

we wasted 1 drive with JJ and 1 drive at the end (for no apparent reason)

anybody watch Auburns game winning drive yesturday? Malzahn doesn't seem to have a problem with rotating QBs.

Absolutely correct...and obvious.

Then JL goes to the 1 yrd line and Les shows all the confidence in JL by bringing in JJ.
bonehead move by Miles.
IMO he traded character for 7 points.

had it even been in the 2nd qtr.,
it would not have not sent the message it did.

and by the way, if JL celebrated and did not get the message.....the fans did.

And yet, Les, just like he did several times last season, felt the need to pull him on 3rd and long and run JL out there. It isn't fair to either player to manage the game in that fashion.
