What-exactly-is wrong with our offense right now?

Do we have red-zone issues? Do we have problems with the run game? Are we having issues throwing short passes or going vertical?
I'm curious as to whether or not anyone feels that Jordan Jefferson is the solution to any alleged problems they can drum up.
I don't see any issues currently. I'm just wondering if anyone else does, and if they do, could they point out how a situational package for JJ would solve them.
Thanks, I'll hang up & listen.

I think our offense is growing and becoming better... "if it aint broke, dont fix it"

There is nothing wrong with this offense, but does JJ bring anything to the table that this offense is currently missing? Do we need a running QB that badly?

Our only problems are that some players on the team want JJ to start.

Some people are convinced you do. I am not.
If we want to run from the QB position, snap the ball to Shep.

we have a 95% effeciency in the red zone. there are no problems with our offense that JJ is going to fix. For some reason, people are all of a sudden dissatisfied with our offense and want to see JJ run his read option bs..something JL cannot do.

How do you know this?

There doesn't have to be anything wrong in order to improve upon it. That being said, when it's working well enough, there's no reason to try and improve it unless you are reeeeeeaallly sure it's actually going to be an improvement.
I think a major factor in Miles' handling of this situation will be his view of the longterm consequences of valuing his players and standing up for them. It seems to me that he believes that risking short term consequences in order to do "what's right" by his team or his players is worth the long term payoff in terms of respect, discipline, program building, etc.
I don't know anything about how one values or weighs such considerations, but his words and his actions suggest that he does. And of course I trust him and his results.

people mistake hating JJ for this line of thinking.
LM mentioned JJ's skill set.
IDK even know what that means.
WHat skill set does JJ have that would make a difference in a postive direction?
Making opposing coaches prepare for anouther qb with few diff plays is the only positve I see.
I can think of 5 different players Id rather have those touches that JJ could possibly take away.

You can't judge the offense by what they do against WVU and Oregon because those aren't SEC defenses. We only scored 19 against State so there is definitely lots of room for improvement.

I don't think we need him, but you never know, he may come in handy one day.
I'm just glad it's all over.

I think there is a very special and productive place that some option with JJ/Ford and shep sweeping across the formation can bring us. Something tells me RS10 would have the potential for some monster runs, same for Ford, with 4-7 yard carries on average for JJ. That's going to open up the PA pass, and RR or OBJ is going to burn one of these teams with it down the road.
Should this be our main package? No.
Is it very realistic that something like this may change the game in our favor vs. Bama? Yes.

Nothing.
The point of concern may be the adequacy of the defenses we've faced.
We haven't played a team that can stop the run (all of our opponents ranked #57 or below) and we have two teams on our schedule that are currently in the top 5 in the nation against the run.
However, even that is nit-picking especially considering the sample size.
