What apparently happened is reprehensible, but bad stuff does happen at games sometimes because some "fans" don't know how to control themselves and let loose their life frustrations on innocent people. The WVU fan who started this thread is a classy person, and his comments are very healing and wise. But here on the Rant, there are posters who do with words what those out of control fans at the game did in person. The results are much the same - violence or threats of violence - and that ruins a good thing for everybody. You didn't blow this out of proportion; some people along these threads beat you to it by a mile. That's too bad for all of us.

Trust us, we know that. Something happens to some opposing fan, or 'allegedly happens' to an opposing fan at Tiger Stadium those fans try to brand all of us as bad fans.

The people who did that are jackasses, not your whole fanbase.

Tell that to the guy w/ a broken nose, a crushed eye socket and a fractured frontal bone in the middle of his forehead

Terrible. And you might want to check this out. Apparently there are a few good people up there in WV.

Even so what happened, happened, that terrible crime does not give anybody permission to devolve this board into immature name-calling or worse, the kind we're seeing all to often along these threads now. The ones who did it are the only ones to blame. I wish the powers that be along these threads would begin whacking the verbal abusers before this really gets ugly.

This incident probably prevents WVU from being a candidate to join the SEC. It' a pity. You have a good, competitive football program.

Words hurt man!!! Are you serious? You need a little thicker skin if you're gonna post around here. You really comparing Internet name-calling to a fan getting his face broken in 3 places? Get real.

BTW maybe you should check out your link, specifically the 3rd post in the thread.

Fair or not, just another black eye (or should I say crushed eye socket) for WVUs already tainted rep.

thanks for the gesture, unfortunately, the same as the actions of some don't reflect your standards, you can't really apologize for what their actions have caused. It's sad for both sides.

Thanks for that! It takes all kinds and not just from your university.

I was only like that one time, when after we lost to Bama, one fine arse bama fan was going off, I told her that was a bit extreme, she told me to kiss her arse, I responded, pull your pants down

I am sorry that there are people that ruin it for everyone. I was at the game on Saturday, I feel very sorry for what happened to the family that got hurt. We are not all bad people that are Fans here at WVU. I want to thank you for coming to our State and hope that you all have a great season.

very nice of you to post, wvu....I did run into some assholes, but I can also tell you that I met thousands and thousands of wonderful folks...your state is a beautiful place and its people are wonderful to be around...I can say without a doubt, that if we played again next weekend, I would be booking my trip right now...

I thank all of the WVU fans for their hospitality while I was there...best of luck to you for the rest of the season...

Thanks but your coach is truly a D bag. I for one don't hold a few asshats against the whole. If so I'd hate all LSU fans.

The attack is awful. It could happen anywhere, but I can't say that I remember one in BR or at an SEC foe. But there are criminal elements everywhere.
I too went to the game thinking highly of WVU and that they could make it in the SEC. But I changed my mind due to:
-Booing injured players, and this was WAAAYYY more than 5%, more like 40%.
-The program has too far to go, small stadium, no discernable ability to cope with crowds, inadequate facilities.
-I didn't notice Holgorsen going ape while there, but in viewing the replay, that is just embarassing and beyond the pale. Coaches do go off, but has the administartion disciplined him or made a statement? If not, there's another reason they cannot make it in the SEC. Sorry, but you blew your chance.
Personally, I would not make a return trip to Morgantown, and neither should any SEC team. No SEC team should EVER play them again.

The person/people who did it (I can't remember if there were multiple people involved) should be forbidden from ever setting foot in Milan Puskar Stadium ever again. Those stupid morons took the game too seriously, and caused a great deal of pain toward a family.

Well hopefully they're in jail so going to games will be the least of their concerns, that said it apparently had nothing to do with the game according to his wife, just a few a-holes going out to act like a-holes, didn't even know they were LSU fans.
