They are all three spread speed type offenses. Other then that I have nothing on them. I would expect WVU to have the same rushing stats as MooSt did.

WVU is the least complete of the 3 named. They rely heavily on their QB, because it's all they have, plus he is pretty good. No run game, a mediocre defense. If it is close, we played down to our competition.

they are not. WVU does not have a running game to speak off.

Oregon and Miss St had great running stats coming into the LSU game. WVU is like 107 in the nation for rushing. They use more bubble screens and short quick passing to supplement their running game. Probably the better QB when it comes to pure passing skills.

they run an up-tempo spread, but not in the sense of Oregon or State. Where the other two want to run the ball, West Virginia spreads it to throw. Think along the lines of a Texas Tech when Leach was there. Holgerson(sp?) was with Leach at Texas Tech and then moved to Oklahoma State, so they're trying to run an offense in the mold of those two programs when he was there.

And with the extra few days the Les has had to prepare (and having J. Randall playing the part of Geno Smith, I would assume), I would think the Tigers should be prepared for that kind of attack.

JMHO...

They are all different in how they want to move the football:

Oregon- Get outside and beat you around the corners (Speed Rush Spread)

Moo State- Spread, but pound the football right at you (Power Rush Spread)

WVU- Air the ball out from the spread.

So how similar are they? Not very, other than the fact that they are all running out of spread formations

Very good assessment. Unlike all the other WVU teams in the past, our best athletes are actually at WR this season, so expect a lot of screens and quick slants.

how would you describe geno's running ability and the frequency at which he'll run? comparables as to he resembles running- size/speed/moves?

He's not very mobile at all. He may pick up 5-10 yards if he has a COMPLETELY wide open lane, but he honestly never, ever looks to run...sometimes to a fault as he neglects to pick up an easy 1st down.

However, he does move around well inside the pocket and has a good internal clock/knack for avoiding sacks.

We do, it's actually right next to the stadium and is open to the public on game days.

Our starting WRs Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey both are. Not sure about any of the other guys. We do rotate 5-7 receivers in regularly.

Oregon runs the ball much better. WVU still has a weak offensive line and cannot run block. Saw some really ugly plays against Marshall with a diamond formation on running plays. Can't punch it in on short yardage and prefers the fade route in the red zone instead of a simple slant. If LSU secondary play the ball in the red zone could have an INT. On top of that the QB for WVU is not fast or aggressive in running. If anything he will hold too long in the pocket. Best RB is not the starter. Watch for #9 any real running plays. Austin is the primary WR #1.

WVU is running quick plays with bubble screens and has a player crossing the QB on snaps (sort of gives away the snap count).

Miss State is about running and has a better running QB.

WVU is totally about passing unlike Rodriguez's offense which was based on running out of the spread.

Actually wish your starting QB was back. He stunk up the joint last year against us and kept us in the game. We had nothing on the offensive end with the exception of one drive. Still had chances to win in LSU. LSU does seem to be stronger this year. That may have been a good brawl for y'all in the long run.

All that being said WVU thrives on the underdog role and it is usually when we play our best. Kiss of death is to pick us as a favorite.
