Is TCU on the SEC short list?

Now that the big east is about to disband. Does anyone else think TCU could get a look?

Stadium holds 50,000 with that market and to join the SEC they should expland it. If the ACC expands like the rumor says I don't see schools leaving now. So for the SEC to do a 16 team expansion they may have to look at Big East and Big 12 teams with the dismantling they are having.

No. D/FW, Houston, and SA are not college football crazy. DFW and Houston are pro towns. I'm not saying there aren't college fans but there's not enough support. SMU and TCU alumni combined are not enough to support a quality SEC team.
I'd love it if TCU went to the SEC. If a major player in expansion is gaining TV markets, A&M gets Texas. TCU adds nothing.

My question is if the ACC picks up Pitt and Syracuse and lets assume teams won't leave the ACC now with those teams added. If we are limited to the remainder of the Big East and Big 12 to reach a 16 team conference. Who do we go after?

Wut? The state of Texas is plain football crazy. Doesn't matter whether it's HS, college, or pro. TCU just doesn't have much of a fanbase.

Good question. The list of available programs is not that large.
WVU and Mizzou are probably on the top of the list. They have they least problems. Texas Tech and Houston are probably on the list as a possible second Texas school. Honestly, I'd prefer TCU or Baylor. And I don't want either of them. OK, maybe Houston.
From the Big East... Louisville? South Florida? Southern Miss?
Ugh. It's ugly. Florida St doesn't seem as bad of an idea all of a sudden if the SEC plans to go to 16.

Yes, looks like ACC holds together. So scratch off VT and FSU.
That leaves Mizzou and WVU. Mizzou is sitting in the catbird seat. B1G, PAC, and SEC appear to want them.
So, no I do not think it's out of realm of possibilities for TCU to be considered.

yes they are but not those cities. If it's between a Cowboys game and UT, A&M, TT, TCU, SMU game, Cowboys win hands down. I'll even go as far as saying they're more crazy about high school football than college.

wvu's stock went up huge today in regards to the SEC. i think they are the now the most likely team to be 14. 15 and 16 could get tricky. kentucky might have to accept louisville coming in.

+1
I think a lot of disappointment in the future for SEC fans.

I think WVU's impending move is what triggered this. I think this signals that WVU-SEC talks have progressed pretty far.

i really think syracuse did this on their own. they have always had an infatuation with the acc. not surprised with pitt either. they seem to look down on the rest of the schools in the league.

TCU is absolutely on the list.
They are in the middle of a conference move and would likely be open to jump ship if the big east is already losing teams to the acc
They also fit in terms of Slive not wanting to take away another bevo 9 team or take a team from a conference that already has a champ game at stake.

That isn't true. DFW is UT/OU/aTm crazy. SA is UT crazy. Houston is UT/aTm/LSU crazy. Nobody is TCU crazy.

How so?

Possibly. It could be a South Carolina-type addition. Remember, the SEC added USCe only after FSU turned us down.

they fit the criteria:
a) big market team (yes i realize they dont have a giant following, but they still open up the DFW market even further)
b) they are quasi homeless at the moment
c) because of (b) they are very open to moving
d) taking TCU will not bring another conference crashing down. eg, they dont disqualify a conference from having a CCG and are not a lynchpin in a conference's makeup.
