Why do LSU fans want a controversy when everything is going swimmingly right now?

No, it's a controversy when the best guy isn't playing.

out of the 11, which looked better than Lee to RR for 28 yards in the 2nd qrter?
You know last drive of the half.

The controversy started when Mett enrolled.

I also think lee will be on a shorter leash than JJ was

I agree 110%. My take is by the Alabama game or so Lee will get in trouble. By then Mett should know the playbook good, gotten some experience under him due to scrap up time, and he will come in and not look back. But on the other hand Les will still rotate Lee in on the remaining future games. That's my take on how it goes down..
What's yall's

Hey, I have a great idea... Let's throw Mett into the fire before he's ready, just like Lee his freshman year.

No way it would end up how Lee's frosh year was. Mett has experience at the college level already. Lee had none. We would not have a drop off at all if he had to play. By the end of the season he may be the better qb to use. But if Lee doesn't screw up, we won't get to really see him in prime time.

Ive been reading all this shite for 3 days, sitting back, taking it all in, weighing it out, measuring my thoughts. This is what's up, bottom line.. LSU fans just don't know what a good quarterback looks like anymore. Its honestly not our fault, really, its not. We have grown so accustomed to JJ and Lee over the last 4 years that we have no fricking clue what its like to have a Matt Flynn, a Matt Mauck, a Bert Jones...While the rest of the SEC could step back and view our situation from a neutral standpoint, we couldn't. You cant see the light at the end of the sewage pipe when you are buried headlong in the shite. We are like the hypersensitive germ boy who has just been removed from his little bubble. You have to re-introduce him to the world slowly, in small metered doses.. You don't adopt a starving kid from Southeast Asia and bring him straight to Denny's for a slam dunk breakfast. His stomach isnt ready for it. The same goes for your average rantard. They cant remember, they are somewhat in denial, and their stomach just isnt ready for a bad arse quarterback. They wouldn't know a good quarterback if he hit them in the nuts with a 65 mile an hour spiral as they walked out their front door for work. But it's ok. Either this year or next they finally will again. Of course they will never admit to it. They will say that they knew all along that the kid had poise, that there was just something about the way he commanded the offense, and that they even spotted it in the 2011 spring game when the kid was zipping lazers all over the field.. QB controversy ? Naw, Timing couldn't be worse..

I am buying that. Since matt Flynn QB situation hasn't been all that great. And he was buried behind JR.

But please don't hit me in the nuts at 65 mph.

Lee has played SEC teams, Mett has played a step above a high school team

Believe it or not, despite what I said, I really don't want them to pull Lee as long as he continues playing well. He has earned it.

Well, I think you play the person who gives you the best chance to play. No matter what though, it would be nice to see Lee and JJ (should he return) get some meaningful PT.

Unless JL bombs a couple of games in epic fashion, I think he'll stay the starter the entire year. Miles has no want to start a QB controversy on a team thats already had to deal with plenty of it.

This season has already started so he can't possibly take over before something that has already begun.

Uh. Ever heard of a little thing called a time machine? Use your brain before posting next time.

Why do you insist in injecting negativity where it is not needed and where it does not exist ?

Why?? Things are great now... IF JL gets on the skids, I think there would not be hesitation to put Mett in the game, but...... barring a repeat of JL freshman year, I dont see Mett entirely taking over..... IMO

IF IF IF.. next year JL will not be there in either case he is a senior. It does matter.

IF someone gets hurt, THEN decisions will be made.

The last thing we need is a controversy or throwing a QB to the SEC before ready.

Not gonna happen unless Lee really, really screws up and I don't think he will.
