According to a recent article in the Advocate, his handlers have never heard him roar. They have been trying several new techniques to get him to load in the trailer but apparently, they aren't working too well. He made it to 6 games last year, as I recall. He won't make that many this year.

Yep. The same article said he isn't seen on gamedays because the crowds make him not want to get into the trailer even more.

So we have a mascot that you can't see when you come to campus on gameday, doesn't like to get in his trailer to be shown off, and doesn't roar.

We might as well just buy a tabby to replace Mike.

since they got him into the trailer before, and the tiger found out that he was brought to the games if he got into the trailer, then I will surmise, he did not like being at the games, since he wont get into the trailer now.

I think the no-roar "feature" is interesting data.

Just don't feed Mike for a couple of days and then through some raw meat in the trailer. How hard can it be?

I had no idea this was going on. They should drop a new tiger in his habitat and not put any food in for awhile. May the best Tiger win.
