re: Why do people seem to like Lee better than Jefferson?

To be honest Jefferson wasn't a great quarterback, but people on this board love to slam him, but Lee's numbers were pretty bad on last night, and because he didn't throw an interception people want to crown him King, Can our defense win every game for us?
JJ made his own bed.......JL does what he's supposed to do and one of these is NOT kicking a guy in the skull 2 weeks before a season opener.

to the guy who says jj is more about himself than the team what do you have to base this on?

This is what I noticed the most. Lee never had clock problems. Lee never had problems getting the play off in time. I noticed this last year as well - for instance, in the Tenn game (the clock blunder), Lee drove us all the way down, with no clock issues, then JJ goes in when we get inside the 10 and we have clock issues. Some people blame that on Miles and Crowton, but I think it squarely falls on the shoulders of an incompetent QB, like JJ. Funny, Miles never had clock issues with Flynn and he never had clock issues with Lee. Both QB's take control of the field and take direction from the bench. JJ doesn't have that capability.
You are such a racist.

Did we play Tennessee twice last season?
Because Lee had two delay of game penalties in the Tennessee game at LSU.
Crowton didn't call the Texas A&M game last year. How many delays did we have?

Lee's numbers at the end of the game has more to do with the style of playcalling and the bad receivers. It's clear that the coaching staff had the plan all along to run the ball down Oregon's throat all night. By the end of the 3rd quarter, it was clear he was right.
To the people who expected Lee, or any other quarterback, to come on the field like Joe Montana and put up 200+ yards, 3 TDs, and 0 interceptions, will be disappointed every LSU game they watch until they find that calibur of QB/receiver combo.

That 40-yard pass that got called back was a bad pass. If a receiver is wide open, he shouldn't have to dive to make a catch. Anyways, I don't think Lee had a bad game, but I wouldn't call it a good game by any stretch. The team had a good game, and he just didn't screw it up.

JJ is indecisive and it makes him painful to watch.
With Lee there is less WTF time.

hung over are we?
I remember we scored a TD with :01 left. If the pass in inc., we kick a FG. How is that a clock issue?

You could tell he was nervous. He usually throws a good ball, most of them had a bit of wobble to it - very uncharacteristic. One good thing that can be said about Lee is he has good form when throwing the ball.
Give him some time to settle in, I think if LSU had just stuck with JL instead of going to this whole dual QB system, we would be in a much better boat.

I'll be glad when they've both graduated. I like Jefferson's run threat but I'm ready for some new blood at QB position.

1. Lee was booed harder than JJ in 2008.
2. When Lee makes mistakes, he admits that he made mistakes instead of telling the media "who cares what the fans think, Im playing just fine" - despite 7 games with not one passing TD.
3. When Lee makes a bad decision, or has a bad game, you can see him cheering his team and still trying to be a leader. JJ can be found pouting on the sideline.
4. When Lee has a good game, he doesn't go on about how good HE did, but instead credits his TEAM.
5. Lee won't be found at Reggies during the football season as he's aparently committed to school and football, and has the class to not be seen out drinking during the middle of the season - people who say this is normal for college students to be doing clearly have never been a real athlete on a real championship caliber team.
6. Lee probably knows the difference between George and Thomas Jefferson (and he isn't even a history major like JJ).
7. Last Spring, Lee spoke about his desire to be a better TEAM, to win a championship. Last Spring, JJ said the thing that inspired him the most for the next season was having a good NFL Pro Day performance!

JL is going to lead us to the promise land, I would much rather lose because of the inability of a player than the stupidity of one.
