One good thing that can be said about Lee is he has good form when throwing the ball.
That's funny shite right there, or maybe my sarcasm meter is a bit too sensitive.

Trolling for the race card, eh?

I'm not, but there's a ton of that crap going on up in here today. I'm getting a little sick (in fact completely nausated) of people insinuating that our approval of Lee's performance has something to do with him being white. I just hope our team (the majority of which is composed of students w/African American heritage) doesn't feel the same way, and instead, can just enjoy their qb's success, and continue to ensure it.

My suspicion is that JJ would have looked just as good under the new offensive coaching. Unfortunately (and it is truly unfortunate), we may never know that, as he allowed his emotions to get away from him a few days before the first game.

By the same token, I refuse to stand idly by while some posters parse his numbers in a lame attempt to say he stunk it up. He didn't. He wasn't perfect by any means, but we DIDN'T see some things last night that we are USED to seeing from JJ. Delays of game, sacks after holding the ball too long, and blank stares at the sidelines. AGAIN, had JJ played, we ALSO may have not seen those things. Remember, the co-ordinators are new.

But what we DID see was a pretty well managed game, and we shouldn't be apologizing because the guy executing that mgt was white.

U rewatch the game. There were dropped passes, but there were more than a handful of horrible passes.

What we see with Lee is a QB that reads the field. I don't know if he checked off on the single coverage pass to Randle for the TD, but at least he noticed the coverage. I don't know if he audibled the play action to D'Angelo, but he made a perfect throw that he could run under. He also steps up in the pocket to make his throws, unlike JJ. Granted, he didn't look great on the one sack, but at least he stepped up in the pocket. I am not saying that Lee is a the perfect QB, but I feel more comfortable in a close game with Lee on the field.

I've always supported whatever QB LSU puts on the field and always will. I feel sorry for JJ and his situation, but Lee is our man for now and I like him.

Honestly, JJ's accuracy is by far the worst of any LSU qb. Go look at any ANY game he's ever played in, including the cotton bowl last year! Lee's timing was off at times, but that's far from JJ putting the ball in the dirt on a 7 yard slant.

Jefferson was such a terrible leader that Ridley, Toliver, and Peterson made several remarks stating that JL was the true leader after Tenn and UF games.

There are hypocrites on both sides of the aisle. JJ guys say his numbers are irrelevant because he won 11 games last year. Lee guys say that the numbers are much more important. Now after Lee's first start, on the road, against the #3 team in the country, he wins the game with mediocre numbers, and the JJ guys want to criticize his numbers and the JL guys want to say he still won the game.

There a silent majority of fans who are rational and saw a QB do what he was asked to do last night. He had a dew bad throws, he had a few nice throws, he had a few drops, and he managed the offense nicely. Did he win the game for us? No, and he wasn't asked to. When was the last time JL had this few attempts in a start? If, or when, Miles and company ask JL to do more, we will find out then if he can do it. Right now it is premature and stupid to say whether he can or cannot do it.

Also, if JJ comes back, LSU will be better with him on the team. If JL is still winning and not costing LSU games, then JJ should sit and watch JL and be ready to go when called upon. Again, LSU is better with both QBs than they are with either one alone. Stop all of the bickering about who is better and why they are better.

You should read the LSU Media Guide/Records so as not to sound so uninformed.
I said that nice as I could.

Are we talking about stats now?

What was JJ's completion % last year?

For those who are mad at JJ for not letting what this very racial fan base has to say is a great thing, I hope lee does well, but I won't hold my breath for it cause he seems to be nervous a lot more on the field than JJ was, I"m simply saying JL has not been near as good as JJ up to this point, no matter what yall have to say about him.

Ok coach, which passes are they. He didn't throw that many passes overall, so it should be easy to point out all of these horrible passes. I counted one bad, uncatchable ball. It was the on where the Oregon guy laid out and hit the ball and it was underthrown. All of these QB coaches on the rant today bitching about mechanics and shite on passes that were still well thrown need to STFU. Remember that all of the "experts" did not want Tim Lincecum because of his mechanics. How did that turn out?

Didn't read thread, but who crowned Lee King? Who?

Now, why do I like every QB in LSU's history better than JJ?

Because JJ is one of the most selfish me players I have ever witnessed at LSU.

He never does anything wrong in his eyes, always somebody else's fault, and he is always good in his eyes. (Read all of his past quotes especially in his suck arse games)

I can't wait for his time in uniform to be over. And it ain't over, he will be back unfortunately.

I like whoever can get the job done.

I think maybe people think we've seen the best JJ can offer but that JL may be able to do much more.

I know that whether the numbers are better or not, Lee is a lot more fun to watch than JJ, who seemed to have more broken plays than otherwise.

You realize that LEE was the starter in 08 and LSU avg.31 ppg with a shite O-line and a TERRIBLE D??? JJ got WAY more credit for te Ga Tech game than he should have. LSU would have beaten T A & M last year with lee.

So if LSU won a game JJ played in they would have won anyway and he didn't contribute anything?

I don't know if JJ or Crowton was to blame for this, but it didn't happen last night!

This is something that shouldn't be forgotten. We had almost zero wasted plays.
