Shea (tonight)
I only watched the last third of the game, but he seemed to play well IMO.

4-5-3 on the year. With losses on American soil to Paraguay, Spain, Panama, Mexico, and now Costa Rica.
Who's ready for the HEX???![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbanana1.gif)

Man, Bradley was a fricking tool for not playing Torres.
To be fair, this was the most complete match I've seen Torres play, and I've probably watched at least 25-30 between club and country.
You'd hope he'd improve in 3.5 years.

El Gringo MOTM. Shea, Agudelo, and Howard get above average. Altidore and Chandler get pass marks. Everyone else bar Castillo
. Castillo gets a deportation.

Why didn't Dempsey play?
No idea
His club probably didn't release him? Chill out dudes. The early parts of the match were great. No biggie in the long run. Should we have won? Of course, but it doesn't mattter. We pinged the ball better than I have ever seen. Torres was great tonight. He should have been taking set pieces.

This. That was his bright spot in the WC. Why do we insist on Cakes taking all of them?

Clearly he had potential though. No way fricking Bornstein should take a slot from him.

Meh. He had a couple of good runs, but also committed an uncalled penalty.
He's so young... he DOES look like a high ceiling type of player.

he did. didn't work at the time due to him or whatever factor

Shea was very good for stretches, I want his endurance to improve because at times he gave the ball away carelessly.
Landon had some bright spots but he also didn't really produce for the most part.
Rogers lost possession, and Castillo was a liability back there.

He was having back spasms so they didn't want him sitting on a plane for that long. They talked about it, first half.

Who? Torres?
I doubt our left back had any impact on the playing time given to our 5th or 6th central midfield option.
"If it hadn't been for fricking Marcus Hahnemann, Charlie Davies could have gone to South Africa!"

Told you Torres just needed a shot. Castillo should be shot. I'd like to see that 4-3-3 with Donovan pushed up and Holden where he was

We need some Stubear.
ps. Shea is the man. he's gonna be a play maker for us in the future for sure.

Grant Wahl tweeted that he had played about 400 minutes (4.5 games) in the last 9 days. Shea looked good, but the man is running on tired legs at this point.
Chandler definitely looks like he has a lot of potential, but it's obvious he hasn't figured out how the team plays yet.
I agree with everyone's criticisms of different guys, but I will add that Edu looked God awful to me. His positioning and decision making defensively was horrible, and he never seemed to be in the right place to break up a counter

Remember that he had 5 attacking players in front of him and two on the outside in defense.
He was basically patrolling the center 2/3 of the field by himself.
GIVEN THE TASK, I thought he acquitted himself well.

Torres plays great but man he gets knocked off the ball easily..and we were playing Costa Rica. Imagine what the Euros would do to him.
We are a Great striker away from being dangerous team. We are about as dangerous in the attacking 3rd as Fulham. To me, Agudelo and Jozy are the same player..decent as holding the ball up but no real pace or creativity.
