I still think OU is headed to the PAC down the road if they even leave at all, but they have been pretty quiet. If they leave with us well....

Actually two different flights. First one from Columbia to Norman, second one from College Station to Norman. But the same plane. When did it jump between Norman and College Station?

Interesting, though. I wonder if Oklahoma State was there too (close enough to drive instead of fly).

ETA: Found the missing flights, see below.

I guess it's conceivable since it's a such a short trip, but does OU usually ferry it's big wigs in an old twin engine prop Beechcraft? That's not up to SEC standards

Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas will rejoin with Nebraska down the road.

Found the missing link between the flights:

So OU's plane came from Columbia back home, then headed south to College Station, and now is back home again.

ETA: Found the morning flight out to Columbia:

Purely for the sake of argument, let's suspend all reality and say for a moment that the Big XII was the stable conference and the SEC had a lot of questions ...

If (again, just for arguing) LSU was announcing a move to the Big XII, would it be noteworthy if an Arkansas plane flew between Fayetteville, Baton Rouge, and Starkville?

And what if they had eyes on different conferences, and wanted to get on the same page before they blew up everything? Just navel-gazing on scenarios here ...

i have no idea, but volleyball season hasn't started, correct? That might throw a wrench in this speculation.

EDIT: It has, but a trip to CS or Columbia would not make sense with their schedule. This also marks the first time I have looked at a college volleyball schedule.

If I remember right someone at OU is on the committee that is looking for the 10th member of the Big 12-2(-1 soon to be). So the Norman-College Station flights aren't that surprising.

It's the Norman-Columbia flights that are the surprising ones.

Here's the entire timeline combined (all involve OU's plane and all flights were today):

Flight #1--departed Norman at 9:12AM, arrived in Columbia at 10:58AM. LINK
Flight #2--departed Columbia at 1:09PM, arrived in Norman at 1:46PM. LINK
Flight #3--departed Norman at 2:40PM, arrived in College Station at 4:17PM. LINK
Flight #4--departed College Station at 6:54PM, arrived in Norman at 8:32PM. LINK

OU's volleyball team just finished (winning) a tournament in Norman. Their next game is also in Norman tomorrow vs. Colorado State.

Looks like this was an attempt to get A&M to reconsider. The school president accepted the audience out of respect for the universities and their presidents but what's done is done. None of those schools will be joining A&M in the SEC.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't see the big deal here...
