How many of you thought Jason Campbell would make the NFL after his junior year?

How many of you thought Josh Freeman would be an NFL QB after his junior year?

Both of those guys improved tremendously their Senior years. I think we can all agree that JJ has had less than excellent QB coaching the last few years.

I wouldn't bet on him becoming an NFL QB, but I don't think we can discount the comparisons to these other two guys.

I think it majorly fuxked up his life for sure. Who knows? He could have blown up like Campbell but i have my doubts.

I will give you Jason Campbell but Josh Freeman was a stud and had NFL written all over him.

This isn't a slam on JJ but do you honestly believe he is NFL material? Based on what we've seen on the field, I don't think he would be drafted and if not drafted, his odds of being an undrafted free agent really play against him.

Nope. Now even less so.

OP you did type this out right. Looking like JJ will not even see the field this year. Hopefully, but not looking that way right now.

He is a terrible passer - had of the best wr corps onthe country last year and didnt do squat. But if I were to buy your argument how many marines faces did Freeman or Campbell stomp on?

10x the technique and ability as JJ.

I don't hate JJ, but come on. He looks awkward throwing the ball and uncomfortable in the pocket. He is obviously a great athlete though, which helps.

You're right, it was Freeman's Soph season that he threw 15 INTs. His junior year was pretty good. Actually, with the exception of the yards, its similar to Jefferson's soph season (Tds, Comp %, etc.)

Many LSU fans do not believe that Jefferson would have made the NFL. They are not willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for his senior year.

Ironically, those same fans are willing to give Lee the benefit of the doubt for his senior year.

I think you will find that many LSU are biased in their view of the QBs.

This type of situation just highlights the uncertainties of life. For my money, he probably never would have made it in the NFL--even as a backup. But who knows, maybe everything would have come together this year and he would have gotten picked up in round 5 or 6.

But his life is far from ruined. He hasn't been charged with murder. At worst (as it looks right now) he'll plead this down to a misdemeanor, graduate from college, and enter the world the same way that 99% of us did. Or, he can still enter the draft or supplemental draft, try out for teams, or take his chances in the CFL or Arena leagues.

I agree with a big year he could've been drafted. Doubtful if he'd have a great pro career. Still, this incident could destroy that chance and his shot at a few million dollars thus greatly altering the course of his life.

Lets face it. The guy is no genius. College wouldn't be much of an option for him were it not for football.

Freeman had a tiny fraction of the talent JJ had around him.

With Freeman LSU is undefeated this year and maybe last year.

Stop this while you can. All three are black, that is your only comparison.

One of the top qb recruits in the nation always had talent, just sucked.

I covered this in the OP - I wouldn't bet on it. It would have been a pleastant surprise if he had done that well this year.

A lot of guys (and not just LSU homers) were talking up his improvement this off-season.

We may never know - thought I think its equally likely he's on the team by game 3 - the question is when he would be able to actually play a game (depending upon how LEe is doing?)
