You ought to follow up on Rummy's suggestion about a TigerDroppings.com blog. I bet that your collection would make for one of the most successful blogs on this site

I talked to Chicken about it a couple years ago before I built my own site for LSU collectors. I was trying to get Chicken to build a collector's board, and he told me I could do a blog if I wanted. I decided to build my site instead.

antique you really need to consider a blog. It would be awesome as so many of us enjoy seeing and hearing about your finds.

And as far as the picture, that is totally awesome and I'd buy copies ... really.

Someone else asked but how in the hell do you find these things??? Right place at the right time? Auctions? And how old are you (what range anyway)? You've got to have the best collection around.

My site is pretty obvious, (my name). Com. That will actually take you to another site and you will see a link there to the forums (my site). I sold the domain to a friend that was going to open a store with the same name.

As for how I find these items, it is contacts from my site to just asking. I went to a garage sale a few weeks ago, saw no LSU stuff, so I ask, she pulls out a ton of old programs and stuff. I buy it all, and her dad is a collector, we talk for a while, and this is the guy I bought the photograph from.

I contacted Lee Feinswog one time to get him to autograph a book I have. We talk for a while, etc, a few months later, his neighbor is looking to sell a collection of LSU stuff and he puts her in contact with me. This is where the Rabenhorst watch is located.

This is the underground I created!!!

Antique- Just wondering if you know a roundabout value for some old LSU ticket stubs I have. One is a 1936 LSU vs. Ole Miss and the other is a 1937 LSU vs. Southwestern. Thanks.

I can't help you there too much. From what I've seen, tickets don't bring high dollar. I would guess the would pull around $25 each. Tickets from the 59 Sugar Bowl bring around $100 each, so a regular season game, even from 20 years before that, don't bring high dollars.

Now, this is just my opinion, and that plus a nickel won't buy you crap these days.

Sorry to hear that ... we don't have "real" collectibles BUT we do have autographs of many players and coaches. Many of these are pictures. Every time we have to evacuate for a hurricane, my family pictures come with us and so do our LSU family pictures. Every. Last. One.

I agree with this statement. Thats why I always say it is just my opinion and I just go by what similar items I have seen sell for.

I once offered a guy $800 for a possible game used ball from the 58 season signed by the team (sigs were all faded). The guy turned my offer down and someone else's offer of $1200,and finally sold it for $2500.

As for not knowing the value of your collection, it is not wise not to know the value for insurance reasons only (fire or theft).

What would it cost to replace your collection if something happened to it?

I value my collection around $12,000-$15,000, and this is nothing compared to some LSU collections I have seen.

FYI,

The photo is at the frame shop. It is longer than I thought, it is 46" long.

I talked to the shop owner about reproducing it and letting him have the exclusive rights of doing a limited edition (maybe 100 total), on canvas, about 6' long.

He said he would do it in a NY second. He said I stole this photograph for what I paid for it.

He basically said it would be no out of pocket expense on my part. He could do them as ordered.

Now I just need to see if I can reproduce it and I may need permission from LSU even if the photo is not copyrighted.

That is why I contacted a lawyer.

I never seen one available for sell before this one. I couldn't tell you where to find one.

olegreg, sorry to just get back to you on this. I've been a little busy and haven't been lurking much. I never really tought about selling the program. My mom gave me a box of old stuff that my dad had. He never throws anything away. In the box were several old LSU programs. One of them was from the LSU vs Ole Miss Halloween game. My dad attended the game that night.

I was really just wondering what AT thought it was worth. I didn't realize that it was valued that high.
