Not seeing the logic behind your arguments. Couldn't that mean they just got paid more at LSU?

This

I'd like to think this is why we said no to Rodgers and Bridgewater last year, but I highly doubt it.

Then the guy would say he offered this much for a recruit but got outbid. I haven't finished reading the whole thing but Bryce Brown, Andre Debose, and Orson Charles are mentioned in the sidebar so it's not limited to just guys who played for UM.

They've always made those PP allegations.

I think D Bowe was under the radar and considered a project until later in his Sr. year. We were just on him sooner than other teams.

Miami made a late push for Bowe, but his grades would not get him in there at the time, remember miami has increase the gpa to enter to over 3.0 (if I remember correct, around the year 2001) again.

Which is why they will likely never win another National Championship until they lower it again like in the early 80's to 2.0 (if I remember correct).

Miami's standards for athletes aren't any higher than anybody else's. They have taken plenty of kids lately with under a 3.0 GPA. Seantrel Henderson didn't have a 3.0.

I think they said something about that, but I don't think they ever did it.

This is really the reason. His grades were a concern so a lot of teams backed off of him.

I had multiple classes with D. Bowe and I can believe the "grades were an issue" story. He was borderline retarded.

Not only did he turn out to be a great receiver, but he also brought Ali Highsmith with him, who was a Miami commit initially but didn't qualify academically and went the JUCO route.

I've never heard anything about Baker.

I think RS was Texas' to lose and we said we'd give him a shot at QB. Same situation as Vince Young where we wanted him to play WR and Texas said they'd let him try QB.

What?

Freak wasn't going anywhere but LSU after they hired Wilson. RS was promised to play QB and with that, he fell in love with LSU. Nobody was hard on Baker until after LSU got his commit? He almost switched to FSU but stayed loyal to LSU because we were the first to recognize his talent.

What you should say is you hope nobody digs in any LSU recruiting because I'm sure they have dirt somewhere. I doubt those three have anything though. Those guys were sold on LSU pretty early.

Amp Hill was the bigger recruit than Bowe.

Freshman student for admission has a strong A-/B+ average, around a 1320 SAT and/or around a 30 ACT test score, and ranks in the top 10% of their graduating class.

And that has absolutely nothing to do with the admissions standards for athletes.

Some of these guys were probably just shy (or raised up better) than to hang out with hookers and billion dollar ponze-scheming jock sniffers.

It's probably some of Miami's antics that allowed us to get those players
