How come when it comes to other teams that pull out a close win "It shows the heart of a champion pulling out a gutty win" LSU does it, "It's was a close lucky win" with the media

because lsu usually barely wins against less talented teams

I agree a little with this. Yes, LSU has the team (QB still a question), but the schedule is brutal. 2 losses is to be expected. If Miles wins the BCSNC witht his schedule, even with one loss, he will be considered the greatest coach in LSU history and all the haters will have to suck it.

With this schedule, a 10-2 regular season record and a SEC Championship Game win (if applicable) and a BCS Bowl win (if applicable), I will be very happy. Our schedule is really damn hard. Bama's schedule is SO much easier and they get us at home.

The Tigers still have to prove they can throw the ball, there isn't any one area that's appreciably better than Alabama,
How does Alabama get a pass on this? I don't see a proven quarterback on that team.

After all- it isn't the amount of wins, it's how you win.

it actually both.

winning games that you should really lose against shitty teams is not a good thing. Eventually that shite catches up to you. That is not the sign of a championship team, anyway you cut it.

LSU won six games by a touchdown or less, and if it didn't hang on in two of those games, the final regular season record would've been a pedestrian 8-4 instead of 10-2.

I agree with throwing the ball part. If we are not better on offense we are not winning the bcs championship. But these arguments are stupid, We also lost those 2 games by a touchdown. We went 10-2 not 8-4 not 12-0.

Because the Bama press saw this pic and immediately thought their QB woes were solved....

Wow hmm, maybe like Auburn going close with Miss St? Or Kentucky? Or maybe Clemson?

Exactly why it's unfair.

With all the preseason high rankings, if LSU doesn't win the NC, people will want him gone. With this schedule, 2 losses isn't out of the question.

Article didn't mention 1 thing about Les being on the hotseat or people calling for his head.
So it is a fair assessment.
What you stated about 10-2 or 9-3 or even 8-4 is really a good year considering this schedule.
I expect to lose to 1 of the 2 OOC big teams and 2 sec teams. that is 9-3, which would be respectable.

Doesn't ever seem to catch up to Miles.

It sounds like most on here and the writer would understand if the Tigers drop a few games, so where is the disappointment? Isn't that living up to expectations?

FWIW- Scout/FoxSports had Kentucky as a team to watch to be a "surprise team" last year (2010)....They went 6-7, so that didn't work out so well.

I see this article as very good locker room bulletin board material.

Bama lost their experienced leader at QB and the most talented WR in school history from a pedestrian offense. And regardless of depth, you don't lose a Heisman winner and sudden become anything other than weaker overall at RB. So, doesn't the Tide also have to prove they can now throw the ball, too?

Not most on here. Those of us that are realist would say 9-3 would be a good year. Those with purple glasses on and drinking purple koolaid with JR would argue otherwise.

Also I'm so sick of hearing "LSU is going to run out of luck sooner or later! Miles can't keep pulling tricks out"

bullshite. Yes he can. Thats just who he is and what we are. Accept it and stop leaving potential losses up in the air to chance.

I'll take a win any way we can get it but sooner or later luck and good fortune will only take you so far...if you want to win a championship you have to play well and do the little things right as players and coaches or you ending up losing a couple of game you probably could have won...

Stop for a minute and think back to last year. Can you imagine the flak Miles would have caught if he'd been in Saban's shoes????

IIRC, Alabama was pretty much GIVEN the BCS Title before the season even started. Well- things didn't exactly pan out- especially when they went head to head.

At the end of this season, LSU will likely have 10 or 11 wins- and we will still be told our coach doesn't know what he's doing.

Whatever.

It starts in Arlington and ends in New Orleans with a few hurdles in the middle.
