the football playing schools need to say frick you peace to the catholic basketball only playing schools and then add 4 more teams. They would still keep all the major markets

Who the frick is their commissioner? It's like he's trying to overtake the worst conference commissioner torch from Dan Beebe. The BE is an abortion of a conference.

22 teams? Frick me.

I hate that the SEC has gone to the cellar of conference expansion. And with freakin lame-arse school in Texas that no one in texas even seems to give a crap about

That would be interesting. Everyone assumes right now that there are going to be approx. 64 teams or so split up evenly between 4 conferences. What if the ACC/SEC/Big10/PAC12 stay around 12-14 and the Big East absorbs the rest?

That would be the ideal situation. All the big time conferences going no bigger than 14 teams and there being five conferences in the playoff mix. Have a 10 team playoff that goes like this: A week or 2 after the conference championship games the #7 and #10 seeds play at #7 home stadium while the #9 seed plays at #8`s home stadium. These are play in games into an 8 team playoff in the 4 BCS bowl games. The 10 teams in the nat`l title playoff come from 5 automatic bids for winning each conference as well as 5 at large bids from any conference. The teams are seeded strictly by BCS ranking at the end of the conference championship games. That allows all five leagues an opportunity while also allowing the stronger conferences to have multiple teams in the title playoff. The regular season will remain much more relevant under this system.

3 things I will enjoy this year:
1. LSU ripping WVU in football
2. Celtic winning the SPL
3. A Catholic basketball school kicking WVU's arse

Isn't that what they're trying to do? Or is that just more of a wish from the fans?

quote:I don't really see a problem with it the way it is. The Big East Tournament is a hit, and it becomes even more popular when it expands. Since the Tournament went from 12 to 16 teams, it's been nothing but popular. 22 teams? Awesome.

As far as the five schools, Houston, Memphis, Central Florida, and Temple have already been talked about, so I'd assume they'd all be invited unless this is a mass exodus of the lesser Big 12 teams. If it's the former, I'd expect the five teams to be Houston, Memphis, Central Florida, Temple, and maybe ECU.
Big Northeast: Cincinnati, Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, West Virginia
Big Southeast: Central Florida, East Carolina, Houston, Louisville, Memphis, South Florida, Texas Christian

It makes sense but that would be too easy of a schedule
