Here's yet another story as to why Coach Miles is loved by all, he is an amazing human being.

One of my coworker's wife has a patient named Tripp. Tripp is a 2 year old boy who has Epidermous Bullosa, a terrible disease that has rendered poor Tripp into a state of constant skin infection. He cannot be touched due to extreme contagiousness, he lives in constant pain, and he will not live a very long life. His face is so disfigured, it will bring tears to your eyes to see. It's just terrible.

Tripp loves LSU football, so my coworkers and I decided we would try and get Coach Miles to autograph a football to give to Tripp. We called the athletic office yesterday morning and were transferred to Coach Miles' assistant. She told us to come over as soon as we could.

When we got there, she advised us that Coach Miles and her had seen a news broadcast about Tripp and they had just been saying the night before that they would like to do something for him. About 5 minutes later Coach Miles and a few guys on his staff walked up with two large LSU bags full of gear. Inside were signed LSU footballs, signed programs and more. One of the guys was holding a huge painted canvas of the Tiger Eye that Coach Miles had also signed. Coach Miles shook all of our hands and his eyes were watery as he thanked us for doing something for Tripp.

The man is being paid almost 4 million a year, is trying to get his premier football program ready for the season, and he took the time to not only gather and sign a dozen different items, but also hand delivered them to us and spoke with us for several moments. I could not help but be overcome with emotion with his gesture and my eyes water now as I type this. This is why Coach Miles is loved by his players, his staff, and the administration, not to mention by thousands of fans around the country. He is an incredible person.

Here is a link to Tripp's blog that his mother maintains if anyone is interested.

You know, I bet Miles and his staff got as much out of that as little Tripp and his family did.

God bless Tripp and his family.

Coach Miles is a great person. He doesn't take his position or role for granted. He gives back to the Baton Rouge and LSU community much more than you would expect, IMO. I am very proud to have him as our coach.

That blog has been posted several times on here and I knew immediately who you were talking about.

Glad Les was so willing to do something for him. Don't think I've ever heard of anyone having a bad encounter with Les for any reason. He realizes how fortunate he is and the position he has is powerful enough to make someone's year.

That actually is a csb.

Ima CLM fans for lots of reasons, not the least of which is the way I've watched him deal with kids at events/stuff like you just mentioned. You're right - he didn't have to do it - but what stuck out the most in your story is not that he actually did it, but did so with what looks to be complete sincerity.

I think people that are sincere are that way in everything they do. It can't be faked, or turned on and off situationally imho. I believe that's why players give him all they have to give, because he gives the players all he's got to give.

You read that story, and THIS is what you decide to post?

Get over it already...

Oh, and yes...I can see Saban doing something similar.

I would be willing to bet my house he does.

Miles is a good rep for LSU.

Cmon. It's a great story about CLM and a little boy. No need to do this.

That was indeed a very nice thing for "Les Miles" to do. "I think it's such a wonderful moment for that little child." Who is now my # 1 LSU football fans.

That is a cool story. Say what you want about Miles as a coach, but no one can deny that he is a great human being.
