CBS time for LSU @ Alabama?

Does CBS select this game as the primetime game of the year? 8pm kickoff eastern. I personally think it will be #1 vs #2!!

No. They have already picked Bama vs Florida.
LSU vs Bama will be a 2:30 kickoff.

Alot of football before they decide what they want to pick up that week. If it is that high it's the game of the week.

Wouldn't we want this to be afternoon anyway?? It's always tougher to play at night anywhere you go!!

I kind of agree. Would rather play at Bama at 2:30PM. Either way, its going to be an epic battle, I don't care if they kick off a 6am.

FYI: CBS already announced that their Prime Time Game (i.e. 7PM kickoff) is scheduled for Oct 1st. It is a done deal.
Bama plays Florida.
LSU plays Kentucky.

That's weird. Why not show the to best teams during primetime? That goes to show you that Bama and UF are still media-darlings. LSU is probably third in the SEC. Tennessee was once up there but LSU has replaced them.

this may come as a suprise but most people watching college football on saturdays are watching during the day....

I think its about WHEN teams play. If LSU and Bama played earliar in the season, the game would be in primetime. Another Factor is the playoffs in baseball at thge time LSU plays Bama. CBS doesn't want to go up against A WS game on Fox.

Another "shock" to most people is the fact that college football isn't as popular everywhere as it is in the south. Many people go out on Saturday nights (dinner, movie, bar, etc.), so 2:30 is likely "prime-time" for nationwide viewership.

it's extremely disappointing that LSU/Bama can't get a primetime spot.
