Go to Rubican, owned by the Coppola family. Will not disappoint.

Bell Winery is very small and very good.

Just drive through town, the are hundreds of them to choose from.

wherever your staying, make sure to ask the front desk or concierge is they have any coupons and/or recommendations. we did this and were able to go to Clois Du Bois an hour early and sample for free

Sterling has a cool location on a hill with a tram. Good wine too.

Like the others said, when you go to one of these vineyards, they usually offer some a coupon or a discount if you buy a bottle of wine from them. I actually preferred going this route because you get to go to vineyards you've never heard of.

Also, do some googling for Sterling and you can find a 2 for 1 type deal for the tour.

Go to Sterling vineyards just for the tram up to the vineyard and the views - wines are OK. Go to Mustards for lunch and almost anywhere for dinner will be excellent!
