The fans for now. Long term we don't know.

Your Mom
Actually, it was pretty damn even with a slight edge to either owners or players. The real winner are the fans who don't have to sit through Sunday-less Football this Fall.

the only losers, imo are the top 15 picks in the draft.

I would say the FANS. But they got screwed as well. The ones that are dedicated to going to the Stadiums every week. frick the NFL. Give me some College football while its still somewhat of an amature sport.

so the original fight of not opening the books versus extending the season was set aside for a bunch of smaller concessions that net more money to the veterans and leave the rookies screwed?

the nitty gritty details aren't publicized yet. I think both sides ultimately got what they wanted. and five years from now the perception may be different (like the franchise tag)

Nobody really wins in things like this, if anything the players only got what the owners were willing to give up.
In essence the owners will always "win".

I don't understand how people keep saying the fans got "screwed".
Do you really like the Hall of Fame game THAT much?

how did we get screwed? Zero football was missed. The next few weeks are going to be a lot of fun.
I never assumed that regular season games would be missed. It was just too much money to throw away

The biggest losers short term were the undrafted free agents that really have no shot of making a roster now. Other than that everyone wins as they will all remain rich. Rookies got screwed over, but they didn't deserve the absurd amount of money they were receiving without proving themselves on the field.

They've been able to prove that some owners, GM's, coaches and scouts believe they are the best available player to improve their team. And they have proven that those teams have been WILLING to offer those amounts of money for their services based on the expectations of the owners, GM's, coaches and scouts.
