Brett Favre of authors?

A prequel would be awesome, but what i really want to see is something in the 19 years after.
Most importantly, I need to see Delores Umbridge get hers. I mean really get hers, not just being implied that she got raped by centaur looking mofo's. I need to see her turning tricks on Daigon Alley. Could you imagine Hagrid paying like 5 bronze knuts to bust a nut on her face. Awesome.

Yep. I still want a full accounting for the exact dead from the Battle of Hogwarts.
According to the Harry Potter wiki, it was May 2nd, 1998.

I don't know how this hasn't been mentioned, but if she wrote something it would be awesome if it was along the lines of "The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore".
I'd agree with this.

I honestly think a prequel would be much cooler than this. I liked the way it was resolved and I don't want my picture of the finale to be jaded

There will be more Harry Potter books. Quote me on that. I've been saying it since the 7th came out.

If by more HP books you mean something along the lines of an encyclopedia or something that explains more on the wizarding world. She isn't going to write anything more with Harry in it.
All of her responses involving writing more books have been the same. "It's my baby, I will do with it what I want. If I want to write more, I will. I don't see myself writing another one."
She has finally come to terms with the ending of the series revolving Harry Potter. It is over.

A dumbeldore book would be cool.

I haven't read anything but the OP but if this has already been said, sorry.
I wouldn't mind if she wrote a mini series about Voldemort's rise to power and reign of power. Just to give some back story to how it was. It would be exciting and wouldn't have to even mess with the whole "Hogwarts" series that these 7 books have been but it would be a great "spin off" IMO.

agreed, i'd like to find out more about Voldemort's rise to power, it really would be an interesting time to develop a story for as she never really went into detail about the era in the HP series. I think it'd serve as a great prequel to the Harry Potter series.
ETA: but question. to new readers of the HP series if there was a prequel like this that they could read. Would reading the prequel before the HP series ruin many of the surprises and mystery surrounding Harry that is slowly revealed throughout the series? I felt like that was what made the series so great was that pieces of the puzzle were released with each book leaving you wanting more as you see the whole picture beginning to take place.

As much as I'd like to see shows/books that I like go on, I think it's better to go out on top. Leave me with a good feeling, don't wanna watch anything eventually flame out.
I do like the idea of a prequel. I'd love it if JK wrote about James, Lilly, etc at Hogworts
quote:for sure! I just watched DHpt1 last night and thought (apart from the centour thing) she didnt get it enough from that book. Bitch.
I need to see Delores Umbridge get hers.

The only real thing that would be revealed beforehand are likely the Horcruxes. You also don't need to go as far as when Voldemort finds out about Harry. Just talk about his initial rise to power.

The Tom Riddle Diaries....or something like that would be sweet.

Nope I was tired of the whole series when there were still two books left. I got through it. It ended well. I was satisfied. Please J.K. no more.

I think it would be great to continue the story much like the Star Wars franchise did. As long as the material is supervised by JK then I would have no problem with it. Although they better not do anything stupid like Star Wars did when the let Chewie die a bitch death in Vector Prime.

I really liked the books.. It would kinda be neat to see a series on Dumbeldore growing up.. Or Harry's Parents growing up with Lupin and Black.
