Just opened back up after being closed for about 5 year. Carlos retired, but decided to open back up. His son owns Mestizo's and uses alot of Carlos recipes.
Great food if anyone has never had Carlos' before!

Airline and Florida near Circle Bowl.
Carlos was still cooking out of his kitchen and delivering to some of his loyal patrons even when his restaurant was closed. Glad he opened back up.

Bmoney is right on, take the service road that passes in front of the bowling alley and it is right around the curve.

It always seemed as though, he and his brother were trying to outdo each other on who could have the most nondescript restaurant in the city of Baton Rouge.

Went last night. Everything was as good as it used to be. Had the burrito topped with onions and peppers. Still has that great salsa with the ground habaneros in it. His wife's homemade cheesecake is solid.

This place used to be money back in the day. Its right next to circle bowl on the curve. That burrito is awesome. Definitely going to have to check it out soon.

I lived right in the neighborhood there when I was growing up.
Place was really good, and I some school friends who worked there in junior high.
glad to hear it's back open. good for broadmoor and good for BR.

Love the food, will be back. Did Carlos do something with that smelly carpet from the 60's?

Mestizo's
I used to LOVE their steak burrito when we lived in BR. I always hit up Coyote when I visit now, and forget about Mestizo's.

Be sure to check your receipt. Always seemed to have an extra entree added to mine.
