Are new baseball powers rising elsewhere?

With the emergence of Vanderbilt, Miss. State, FL, and SC it seems as if though LSU is being pushed out the way. Thoughts?

UF is extremely lucky to be where they are. The MLB draft has spared them the last few years. Vandy is up and down depending on their pitching. State I wouldn't say is any better this year than they have been the last 5 years. SC is very good and have been the last 10 years. They are just finally sealing the deal in the end. LSU has some work to do to get back, but the main difference between them and LSU is a DEEP pitching staff.

Not really. The competition has just shifted. Back in the day it was Alabama, Tulane, or Rice. Now it’s shifted further east. LSU still should be a top 5 baseball program.

Yep...have the starters....mid relief and closers were spotty.

Tell them all to go out and win 6 CWS titles, and then we'll talk.

you don't sound like a bandwagon fan at all

I expect the same thing that happened to Oregon State to happen to South Carolina...OSU fell off the face of the earth after their 2 titles. Carolina will have to do some rebuilding next year. Sure, they won back-to-back titles, but have they done anything since?
Nope

Prolly took showers, partied, ate, drank, slept...idk.
Tanner is a good coach and USC has been a good program for a few years now. I doubt they disappear.
How many guys are they suppose to lose off this team?

Wiki is your friend.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Tanner
USCe and OSU are nothing alike..totally apple v orange...before during and after their B-2-Bs..book it!
Even before this season started, I've argued and caught flack from many LSU posters on the Rant, SECr, and MSB, that USC and Tanner have been the SEC's best program of the 2000s. I wasn't ready to even concede such when Smoke bested Tanner by a single SEC win over their same five year window, with two two-and-qs in Omaha for LSU, both ending with USC sending the Tigers back to BR..
But, with LSU's 2000 crown being largely a 1990s spillover/last hurrah from the Bertman 80s and 90s. LSU's recent 2009 crown sandwiched by three 5th place finishes in the West. And that USC had close bridemaids runs before finally cashing in, and now B-2-Bs..
There is no argument..USCe Baseball and Tanner..SEC's Best in the 2000s...period dot fact!
Will LSU get back to the top? Sure. But, who knows when? The three 5th place SEC West finishes and a 77-71 SEC mark around it's 2009 crown, over the last five seasons, leave work to be done.

C, 2B, 3B, CF, DH
they look to bring back all 3 weekend starters next season. they lose their top setup man in Taylor, and the closer Price has a decision to make (drafted in 6th round)

SC could rapidly be approaching the LSU dynasty if they keep it up.

I thought Miss State started the SEC success.

The ACC is a pretty good league. Not SEC type good, but, better than a lot. Carolina and Virginia have both built themselves into national contenders in recent years. Both have the potential to win a national title here soon. Whether or not they do remains to be seen.

You can argue that because of MSU and LSU's success over the years, they have made the SEC a more competitive conference in baseball. So if anything, I take pride in the fact that the program I am a fan of, laid down the foundation to what we are seeing today.
