Hitting was a bigger problem than the pitching. But whatever.

If true then I have lost alot of respect for Paul. Hitting and base running was the problem the past 2 years. Pitching had its problems but nothing like the crap Sanchez has made.

To be fair, hitting wasn't a problem last year, just this year. Baserunning is a little crazy with Javi, but Mainieri likes the aggressive style, he ran us out of innings in 2007 as well

Yeah that's what Mainieri likes.
Our backs were against the wall, and Mainieri was sending everybody home no matter what the whole weekend against Tennessee.

But still, there is no reason we can't have an experienced top flight hitting coach at lsu

Base running has been god awful. Aggressive is one thing. Stupid is another. We were borderline retarded.

Outside of Mahtook, not really

Sanchez seems like a nice guy. He must work that really well.
Maybe Mainieri likes the accent.

Is turtle still coaching in Florida? Let's get him. No recruiting though.

This is true.
Hitting in situationas was a bit bad. Without protection Mahtook's bat was taken out of the line-up at times. When Katz was back, hitting all of a sudden got better.

Beginning of the end, in my opinion.

I am pretty sure Turtle is at FAU or FIU or someone like that

This is pretty typical. We hit ten times worst than we pitched and you get rid of the pitching coach and keep the hitting coach.

is down here in Miami at FIU.

Hitting:
1. Watkins - POOR
2. Rhymes +300, solid
3. Hanover +-300, ok
4. Mathook - off the charts
5. Nola - down to 280s
6. Katz - down then off like a rocket
7. Alex Edward - down then came on strong at the end
8. Ty Ross - way down and stayed down
9. Jacoby Jones - solid after lineup switch slump
We definitely could benefit from better hitting. Freshman catcher, Watkins, and Nola really needed some encouragement and something to get them out of the doldrums.
Relief pitching was trouble. However, we were absolutely god awful scared when a starter had to leave early. No middle relief and Ott/Berry couldn't hold up.
