My wife would be upset if I purchased an expensive coffee maker.....or one that required expensive coffee servings.......

but I am looking to purchase a new coffee maker. We have an old 12 cup Mr Coffee that has worked great for many years.....but is beginning to leak grounds - the drip spring is weak.

Regardless....a buddy of mine has a Keurig with Individual Servings at Sams.......had some great coffees the last time I was at his home.....says the cups are about $.55 each, and our pot of coffee runs about a buck. Im sure I can pass that by my Dave Ramsey wife!

what do you have? what would you like to have?

Thanks!

I use a french press in the morning. Combine that with an electric kettle and a thermos to bring the coffee to work and I am in great shape.

I have a Keuring (Coffee) and a Nespresso (Espresso :obviously). Both are awesome depending on what you're in the mood to have.

we've found the cheapest place to buy is from keurig.com, they usually offer good deals if you sign up and its usually free shipping.

True, but you have to go with the SS carafe with no burner underneath.

i know, i got mine for my birthday last year and apparently didn't make it clear that's the one i wanted. still makes a great cup of coffee, just can't leave it sitting for very long. i usually only make 2 or 4 cups and drink it within 15 or 20 minutes.

If it ever becomes an issue, I wonder if you could buy a ss carafe and just turn the burner off?

ETA: The SS carafe's will keep coffee hot forever. My wife forgot to rest the timer after a power outage and our coffee brewed at midnight. It was still very hot at 9 a.m. and beyond the next morning.

yeah i don't see why not. it looks like the two machines we posted have the same dimensions for where the carafe sits. just swap out the pot and there ya go.

that's pretty amazing if true. i can't stand even the slightest burnt or sour coffee. and of course cold is terrible.
