Heard the food was good, but I never ate there.

Could never square the notion of Galatories as an Interstate Exit type dining establishment. So, I guess this isn't surprising news.

Galatoire's Bistro has closed, and the restaurant will move to a new location in Baton Rouge later this year. A sign taped to the front door of the Perkins Road restaurant today says the restaurant shut down Monday. The sign says the new location will open later this year in a spot more centrally located for businesses. That location is at present undetermined; however, there have been widespread rumors it will be at the corner of Perkins and Acadian Thruway. Galatoire's opened its Baton Rouge location in November 2005 and expanded the site a year later. The New Orleans landmark was one of the first businesses to establish a Baton Rouge location following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Sounds like this further confirms my point.

Actually not really. This location can be seen from the interstate as well. Although I hope this is the location it lands in. This spot has been begging for a nice restaurant. Not saying ACME isn't good....nevermind yes I am.

Yeah, perhaps. I think that's more of a genuine locally trafficked thoroughfare than simply an Interstate Exit, though.

As an out of towner, I think this is great. There is a TON of empty real estate at that corner.

That location could put a bit of hurt on Jubans. I do hope they go exactly there, and hurt the little pricks that threw thier own mother to the curb.

As one of the gateway entrances into LSU, it would seem to be a natural place for multiple restaurants.

Nice, I guess the country club folks weren't footing the bill. Sounds like they want get more football weekend business if going to be closer to campus.

So glad to hear it's moving and not just closing down. I was about to be very sad.

In the hotel? I don't believe it was in the initial plans nor have I heard differently.

If I remember correctly, Wampold was going to develop the old Kmart land, but then the downturn hit, so he scrapped the idea.

Like CITWITT said, I hope they go in and force Juban's to step up their game. They've been the lone horse in that area for far too long.

Hell, I'd prefer Marcello's every time over Juban's.

Wasn't there a rumor of some sort of possible Brennan's connection there, or am I confusing things?

Yeah, I think Dickie Brennan was rumored to be putting a place in there, but that plan seems to be dead.
