Will tOSU's sanctions be worse than USC?

Gonna be bad IMO

Eight years of violations=MUCH worse.

If it ends today with no proof of anything else, then I don't think so. USC involved multiple sports and coaches, IIRC. OSU will put the blame on Tressel and, since he is gone, beg for mercy. However, if the allegations regarding cars and no show jobs is proven, it will be USC bad or worse.

they SHOULD be......its all up to the way the ncaa WANTS to handle this.......not a good position to be in for osu.....

Gonna be the worst since SMU I'm guessing

I'm curious to see how long it takes ohiya to receive sanctions. It took forever for the NCAA to make a ruling on u$c and the reggie bush case....it might be years before something gets handed down to osu

I want to see how far the car allegations go.

They should be but it remains to be seen what happens. Maybe if OSU is helpful in the investigation the NCAA may show some mercy. Remember the NCAA went hard at SC because they felt SC did not help at all in the investigation. Every school will basically do the opposite of what Mike Garrett did and hope for some leniency.

Honestly, you can say I'm biased, but if this is it (and I acknowledge it may not be) I don't think so. You can put this all on Tressel not taking action, not on the university.

great advice for any school. Ask SC for a blueprint of how garret handled it and do the opposite.

Hard to say. Depends on what's proven. USC got murdered because Garrett handled the situation like an idiot. Also, the coach who knew about the issue remained on the staff until the violations were announced. That being said, it appears OSU's allegations are much more serious.

They will not. Tressel actually took the fall as opposed to Carol who remained arrogant until he fled the scene. uSC was way too in your face about it all while OSU will be submissive and apologetic.

If it proves true about the cars and that the compliance office was referring players to a particular dealer it will be way worse than USC. If its true that not only shows a lack of instutional control but shows that they had a system in place by the university to actually assist and direct the players in cheating.

Agreed. All the allegations are against Tressel, not the university.

...Including USC. People forget that USC was coming off probation when Carroll was hired and went back on probation shortly after he left.
I have a lot of respect for Pat Haden though. I don't think we'll be seeing anything bad from USC as long as PH is in charge of USC athletics.

Tressel was head football coach! He was the principle representative of tOSU as far as football is concerned. As far as the NCAA is concerned, he was the university.
tOSU is screwed. I think it will match USC.

this depends how far down the rabbit hole SI/AP go. if its true the compliance office covered stuff up like vest did, they will get double what usc did
