Trick question? The 1997 MOP was Brandon Larson.

Brad Wilson was on 3rd on Morris' homerun in 96'. Larson MVP in 97 and single season HR leader with 40 in 97' also! Most wins was 57 in 97' also, we came close in 09' with 56. I have to recheck other questions, I'll be back!

Brett Laxton struck out 16 WheatShockers in 93' cG, Jack Lamabe was coach before Bertman, and as far as SEC teams we have encountered in Omaha, I know Florida in 91 and 96, Bama in 97', Miss St in 98', Arkansas in 09', we lost to South Carolina in one of Laval's years , I guess maybe in 04 or so.

Also in 97', Bama beat us 28 - 2 think the final was. We then knocked them off on Sunday to win the SEC regular season title. They then beat us in the SEC tourney final, but we then won the one that really counted in the CWS final, 13 - 6. 97' was a hell of an eventful year, as we hit a never to be broken probably 188 homeruns, including atleast 1 in every game, and atleast one by every player on the team too! 40 homeruns by Brandon Larson, 57 wins, and 2nd CWS Championship in a row!

Don't know most lopsided win, but in 96 regional final at the Box, we beat Ga Tech 29 - 13, after scoring like 16 or so runs in the 7th or 8th. Definitely biggest arse whooping in huge game, along with 21 -7 or whatever we beat UC Irvine by in 08' final at the final game ever at the old Box!

trying this from memory...
quote:

1) Who was on third base when Morris hit the walk-off win against Miami? Brad Wilson. Pat Burrell was covering 3B.

2) Who did LSU play in their first game in Omaha?
first ever? tough one. 1986, Okie State?
3) Who was the 1997 MVP of the CWS? Brandon Larson? or possibly that Caruso guy from Bama. My choice would have been Mike Koerner.

4) Who holds the CWS Championship game record for Ks, how many? Brett Laxton, LSU. 1993 Final. 17 Ks.

5) How many SEC teams has LSU encountered in the CWS? 1991: Florida (2), 1994: MSU?, 1996: Florida (2), 1997: Bama, 2002: S.Carolina, 2004: S.Carolina, 2009: Arkansas.

6) What is the LSU record for wins in a season? 53, I think.

7) What is the most lopsided win and loss in LSU history? Loss: 28-2 to Bama in 1997, Win: hmm...

8) When did LSU win the SEC regular season crown for the first time? 1990? (tied UGA)

9) What is the single-season HR record at LSU? By whom? 40 by Brandon Larson in 1997.

10) Who was the coach before Skip Bertman? ugh, drawing a blank. does it matter?

We also played State in 98.
Edit: I don't think we played them in 94. I beleive that year we lost to Florida State and Paul Wilson in game 1, then got trashed by Fullerton in game 2 after they scored like 10 runs in the first or second inning.

That would be pretty impressive to win a CWS MVP while still in high school.

Furniss is the career leader (80?). I don't think he ever hit 30 in a season. Larson is definitely the single season record holder.
