I have limited experience with s&w but if you want reliable you can't go wrong with Glock

It's all about the feel of the gun between those 2. I've got a Springfield XD .40 b/c I liked the fit the best. Both the Glock and M&P are damn fine weapons though.

I haven't play with the s&w mp but have a glock 26. Out of several thousand rounds it has never had a jam from a misfeed. Not one.

Looked at both today. The S&w is made with inferior materials and it increaes your chance to jam or msifire by about 2/3. The glock is also easier to break down and put back together. Thats why the S&W is $200 cheaper.

IMO Revolver=S&W

Semi= Glock/Sig

I have a Glock 23 and often shoot 400-500 rounds through it without cleaning. Never has jammed on me and very easy to breakdown and clean. Also, Glocks fit my hand very nicely.

I think you're thinking if the s&w sigma series which are indeed crap.

The s&w m&p series is a much better quality gun. You really can go wrong with either although a glock is much more proven. I have 3 glocks and love shooting them.

I've never shot the mp.

I'm a 1911 slut, though, and I love my Glock. It's been almost 1000 rounds since I last cleaned it and still has never jammed on me.

Get whatever feels best, not what Internet nerds tell you. Whatever feels best is your right answer. You won't regret it.

I never did like Glocks... shitty triggers IMO. It stems from their "safe action" mechanism.

Disagree completely.

Glock has a hard stop close enough to firing that makes the safety irrelevant.

Ain't saying it's an accurate pistol. But it is a pistol you can learn and shoot every time you pull the trigger that will go in the kill zone on a human from pistol distances.

You pull the trigger. It goes bang and cycles another that will do just like it.

Love my Glock .40. I constantly compare it to my H&K USP, which is a sweet pistol in its own right (and much pricier too), and I can't look down on the Glock. It shoots great, natural feel and point of aim. The upper is much lower profile than most. I have limited experience with the S&W though, so can't make a valid comparison between the two.

I lke Glocks BUT SW MP is also a fine weapon. As is Springfield. Just hold them and go from there.

I ike the price on Glocks and the way they feel. They shoot fine for me and break down easy. Simple to the point. My next Glock will be a G26.

I'm a firearms instructor and a Glock factory certified armorer. In my opinion, it is the most brilliantly engineered had gun available. There are a few that shoot better but the reliability of a Glock is amazing. You can completely submerge a Glock under water, pull it out and it fired perfectly. The Glock will also fire when it is extremely dirty.

The S&W isn't even close IMHO. I love S&W revolvers and I wouldn't use anything else. Their semi's just aren't as good.
