Apparently I somehow got into some last weekend. Anyone got a remedy. Been using hydrocortisone cream for the last 3 days w/o much improvement. Has anyone used Tecnu?

The best thing you can do is get to a doc somewhere and get the steroid shot. It will be gone in a day. They will sometimes give you the pills and they will work but take 4-5 days. I always opt for the shot. You are done by the next day.

The creams are useless

Steroids are the only true remedy, but if you dont want to got to the Doc....

Hydrocortizone does nothing for the rash, jsut helps slightly with the itch. Keep it in your pocket and use it any time you think about scratching. Take Benedryl or Claritin as well for itching.

Wash afected areas and your hands with dish soap (Dawn) anything that cuts grease really, you have to make sure the oils are completely gone. Then just wait it out with the Hydro cream.

Some people say wash the rash areas with a mild clorox / water solution to "dry it out" some say it works, I've never tried that one.

scratch it with a wash cloth and rubbing alchahol until it dries out and bleeds.... looks like it will leave a permanent scar, but, won't... OMG, it feels good too..

Tecnu is good stuff to use as soon as you get out of the woods. Not sure about after you're already got the rash though.

Best thing I found for the itch is to scold it with hot water. I forgot why but some told me to do this and it will stop the itch temporarly.

I always catch it really bad once a year. For whatever reason i only get it once, and then i can roll in it from there on out and not get it ??? I dont get it...

Any how, the best way to prevent it is to either
rub down and wash with tecnu right after you exit the woods / or if you dont have TECNU you can rub down with isopropyl right before you get in the shower. Let it sit for about 5 minutes. I have found the rubbing alcohol is the best prevention.

As far as after the rash appears you wont get rid of it until you get a steroid shot. At least for me personally. I will blow up like elephant man until i get a shot.

I got in the shower and poured bleach on myself directly from the bottle. It worked great. I did not have open sores though.

Go to a walk in clinic and get a cortizone shot. Best money you will ever spend.

I seem to be only mildly if at all allergic to poison ivey so I dont have much idea of what to use, but my mom always had this oatmeal cream or something with oatmeal that helped. I've heard urine will work if its fresh. After a couple days its useless. One of the times I've gotten it I scratched the shite out of it and then mom rubbed it down with alcohol. Seemed to work.

This. Hot water will make it spread like a mofo

cortisone will clear it up faster than anything. I get it very bad at least once a year and i always get a shot asap.

Also. Try to use dish soap instead of bar soap. It'll cut the oils better and not spread
