In their primes, Riggs destroys McClane. Riggs was a crazy, special forces sniper with martial arts training. No disrespect to McClane, but he's just a tough as nails NYC cop.

I think McClain might give Gandalf a run for his money so I'm taking McClain.
And Riggs never beats Hans Gruber either.

This plus Riggs smashed the super hot South African chick in the 2nd one. So's he's got that going for him, which is nice.

McClain was never much of a fighter. He usually had to use a weapon of some sort to beat his foe. Riggs was a legit badass. He broke the Chinese dude's neck with his legs while his hands were tied.

Riggs in the first two Lethal Weapons would have destroyed McClain.
Riggs from Lethal Weapon 4 would have gotten the shite kicked out of him.

Tough question but I have to go with McClain. I like his personality better

He was still a badass. Jet Li was just karatesizing the hell out of everybody.

One had a partner, the other didn't.

McClain took out a fighter jet with an 18-wheeler. Just sayin.

I like McClaine better personally and he saved more people. First in LA, then Chicago and then New York and later Washington (he sure gets around) but Riggs was a bad-arse.
I can't believe no one mentioned how he dislocates his own shoulder to escape the ropes..

I prefer McClain, but I think

In a one on one fight, i'd take Riggs. The hole special forces thing.
In a hostage/terrorist situation, i'd take McClain he seems to be a lil more resourceful.
Now what I would really like to see is McClain and Riggs team up and kick arse.
