is seeing Cal St Fullerton at #8 because LSU fared really well against one of the best pitching staffs in the country. Granted two of the games could've gone either way but they went toe to toe with an Omaha caliber team.

Yeah it's tough seeing that. Seems like such a long time ago that we were rolling through teams

I was going to start a thread about what happened to LSU and CSF post that series in Baton Rouge.

Titans are 19-2 with losses to top 10 ASU and rival UC-Irvine. I think the 0-4 road trip to BR and College Station was great for CSF. That plus having 7 players miss the trip to Hawaii has this team playing great ball.

I really hope the Tigers can bounce back from this funk they are in, but at this point making it to Hoover seems like a long shot...

But we've gone toe to toe with nearly every team on our schedule. We've just made too many mistakes down the stretch and lost nearly all of the close games since then.

To me it seems like sweeping Cal St Fullerton was one of the worst things for this team. They believed they were better then they are at this point and got big heads. Then the close losses to Florida had this young team put their heads down.

I went to the Arkansas series. That was the most unmotivated LSU team I have ever seen play before. You could just read their body language.

Now the question is which will happen first. The pitching gives up on the bats and the team falls apart. Or the bats pick up and try and make a run to either lead them to post season play or give them a lil to work towards for next year.

The pitching was great Satuday and Sunday. Too bad PM has lost faith in Ott that it took Gausman giving up a HR for him to pull Gausman.

Ott did get his 5th save though. He got his 4th save really early in the season, when he broke the LSU save record. Hopefully this spikes his confidence.

The bats just need to come alive. I think Rhymes should be moved to 5th in the lineup. Make opponets pay for walking Mahtook. Nola should be moved to 3rd.

As crazy as it sounds, I like Watkins leading off. Get him on base and he's got a real good shot at stealing with his speed. Runner on 2nd with no outs is hard to frick up.

The most depressing thing is all the one-run games the team has lost. At least six or more so far this season, right? Anyway, we're not getting blown out in most of these games, we're just coming up short. Don't know which is worse.

6 one run losses, 2 two run losses.

Javi excels at finding ways around the impossible. He would tell the runner on 2nd to tag up while the SS catches the fly ball.

I was there. The town was electric. We were the hottest team in the country and had #1 coming to town. Patrick Peterson is throwing out the first pitch. Matt Flynn and other LSU legends are there. Largest baseball game attendance in Alex Box history.

We're winning the game and have our Ice closer in. He gets the first out and we're all ready to celebrate. He then loses the game and the wheels fall off.

LSU baseball is about greatness. When we're not great we struggle. I can't help but wonder what happens if we win that first Florida game.

The Fullerton series is what is still giving me hope we can still turn this thing in the right direction. Maybe we aren't as good as we came away from that weekend thinking, but surely that means we aren't as bad a people on the Rant would have you believe, I mean we have been completly out of one SEC game, the Sat. game against Ole Miss.

Maybe, just maybe we can get some breaks to start going our way!

Thats why I think this Vanderbilt series is a good thing for this team right now!

Vandy is a great team and pose a tremedous challenge especially with how we have played of late. But, maybe this team will except the challenge go to Nashville and really put a good showing together and get the ball rolling postivly in the right direction.

We, all know are starting staff is good enough, now if we can just get a few more keys hits and some help out of the pen!

All of the above is easier said than done, but I can't help but thinking LSU isn't as bad as the SEC record would indicate!

CSF also plays a little easier schedule for their league. However, LSU after that series had so much promise. It's a shame to see where we fell to.

Yeah, that series had me happy about the Tiger's chances and down on Fullerton, but since then it has been a different story. The 10 errors by Fullerton that series played a huge role and I think that helped Serrano and the Titans realize that they needed to get back to basics!

Can we borrow some of those basics?

LOL...I really wish LSU would pick up their game so both my teams would be in the post season. NO reason for LSU to be playing as bad as they have been.
