so you see another 7 of 11 majors run, including 4 in a row in the not too distant future?

I said he's reaching his prime, physically & mentally.

I didn't say anything about winning majors. He may not win another or he may win five more. Time will tell.

The prime for golfers is in their 30s. He may not go on another historic run, but he's not over the hill by any means.

mentally i can see, although i think getting taken down by Yang got to Woods a lot more than everyone talks about now. physically, not sure about that. he's 35 and had what, 4 knee surgeries? as violently as he swings, is a bad back possibly not far away?

I will forever love and respect Yang for that performance.

Getting beat by Yang might have been the wake up call he needed.

Supposedly the new swing is designed to take a lot of stress/strain off the knees and back. His physical condition is obviously a big if.

bullshite shallow observation.

The PGA thrived before Tiger, it will after.

It's TV and hero worshippers(edit:see an above post) who NEEDS Tiger.

You are an idiot if you don't think Tiger didn't change the game forever.

I disagree. He changed the media's view of the game and all they saw was dollar signs with Tiger's smile on it.

The game does not evolve because of one man. The game is the game.

So, you're saying you DO in fact care about golf? Or could you not care less?

->Better athletes are playing golf
->Focus on fitness
->"Tiger-proofing" of golf courses
-technology helped, but still

The game itself didn't change, but there was a definite impact on how it is played

Replace the name Tiger with Nicholas and you are at the same place years ago.

I'll be honest. I've gotten much more enjoyment watching Tiger since the 1996 US Amateur (which I caught on a whim just flipping channels) than any other athlete in my life and it's not even close.

That's 15 years of spectacular, clutch, and gutsy play (runaway victories, making 15 footers for par, 20 footers to get into a playoffs, bombing it long, playing without the driver, hiding from the public for 5 months and then finishing 4th at masters).

If Tiger plays, I stay home and watch. If he doesn't play, then I go play.

To non golfers. Here is my long rant on why I cant stand Tiger (this was before the whores.) Before his indiscretions he was still a disgrace to the game. Throwing clubs cussing loudly after missing his mark by 2 feet. All around acting like a spoiled entitled brat. The guy had the most talent around but he was the antithesis of golf. You are supposed to act like a gentleman on the course, at least in public. Tiger was the opposite of that. Honestly the public should have figured him out sooner. We were supposed to think that the guy who was the worst at letting his emotions get to him on the court was the ultimate pr nice guy robot off of it?

Daly got away with his image because he was Daly and he wasnt the best. Tiger was supposed to be Arnie and Jack on the course and he failed miserably. Im far from the only one who thinks this.

To be honest Arnie did more for golf than any other player EVER. Think about it.

What if Rory McIlroy comes out and shoots a 62 today? Would that be bad for golf?
