I didn't know our new punter was from Australia. This article talks mostly about his culture shock.

quote:
“A few of my friends at Parkview (in the 2009 season) said, ‘You want to go to a LSU game?’ And I was like, ‘Not really. Who cares?’ And then I got here at LSU, and it felt like there were a million people here. My friends back home still don’t really understand what’s going on, so I just tell them to google Tiger Stadium. And then they sort of understand that it’s a pretty big deal.”
quote:IMO, Special Teams play is going to be our weakness this year; hopefully Wing will be able to contribute.
“I called mom and said, ‘I’m not coming home for another couple of years,’” he said.
“There aren’t structured sports in school in Australia like there is in the United States,” the elder Wing said. “Brad has really enjoyed that structure. It’s totally different in Australia. There are no school sports. It’s all club sports.”

Heard he has been very inconsistent this spring. Hope that's not the case, but I definitely think special teams with be a concern this fall.

Dude's got enough leg to make Harry Rabenhorst's record setter look like a shank coming off his foot.
I'm only half kidding.
Dude can boot it.

Hopefully he doesn't end up punting balls in the wrong endzone seeing how confused he is.

Nice. Does he have the accuracy too?

Read the article. Miles said he can pooch punt it to the five yard line like he was using a nine iron

If memory serves me correct during second half warm ups at the Ole Miss game last season I was watching all three of our #38 punters. Wing by far seemed to be the best. He kicked the ball out of the endzone from around the 35 no roll 75 yards in the air. Granted he was kicking with the wind but damn.

All I can say is that you fellas better thank your lucky stars that Joe Rob didn't COMPLETELY BOTCH the Wing recruitment up.
He really almost d!cked the poor kid around. Flew halfway around the world to get a Visa after he found out he needed a different type of one to get into LSU that he used to get into PBS.
Flew non-stop, got the paperwork, and then flew back, same way. Kid wanted LSU. This was after we "weren't much help" with getting his transcripts in order. His parents found someone with some experience.
Meanwhile, JoeRobbingUsOfMoolah was busy taking a commitment from Dylan Effing Botts to fill his spot.
Wing & Fam got the feeling LSU had left 'em out to dry. Everything worked out, but it proved to be another brick in a Special Teams Coaching Award Winner's Wall.
That's the last recruiting situation Miles allowed JoeRob to eff up.
