The Little Village. I gave them a 2nd chance today.

Wait staff was very attentive, which as many of you know from my post last week, was my main gripe.
Management was very friendly and came around checking on us in a timely manner. Table was pre-bused before our main entrees arrived.
And the food today was on-time and delicious.
All in all, a very good dining experience. We love to support local - so glad to see they turned it around today for us.

We THANK YOU and we promise that your $400 in coupons will be used and you will be happy each time. Please call me before you come so I can always have a table waiting for you and not you waiting for a table. You are a fair person and great doing business with. THANK YOU.

You might want to write a review of your experience on Geaux dining. Some other folks might give them another chance if they see that yours worked out so well.
Maybe if we just say we're from the Rant or a friend of yours, we can all skip waiting and get guaranteed good service.

I had not really thought much of two trips to LV downtown in it's first year, finding it not on par with Mrs Fannie, Joey, or Tina's recipes. But recently went to the Airline location for lunch. And though the sensation and side salads on all three trips didn't wow, it was improved from the largely iceberg experiences at LV Downtown in it's opening campaign..
The Seafood Arancini(smaller than Ginos..and the "Tomato Basil Soup" esque sauce not as good as Gino's pinkish sauce either), but it had far more seafood than Gino's in the ball despite smaller size, and was tasty.
The Seafood Cannelloni lacked wow, was in small portion, and was sorta gooey, more sauce than seafood.
Now, for the things done very well to great..
The Fish Almondine was very solid, my Eggplant Napoleon was excellently battered and sauteed, and in huge portion, with great spinach madeline side. And the bread pudding dessert absolutely delicious, with excellent drizzled waffle shell and accompanying raspberry or whatever fruity sauce..easily enough for two or three people to share.
Still don't get the fascination some folks have over the greasy cheesy $6 bread though..and never will!
P.S. WC, I should've known, you did the $25 for 50 for the max amount again, huh?

Which location?
I bought the BargainBee for the downtown one today. I've never had a bad experience there, but I remember the thread about the one on Airline being bad.

I ate today again at the Airline location and wrote a separate thread about my experience today.

Your avatar doesn't have the same charm as the smaller one did. What happened?

While you are here. You may want to do a search on Little Village on this board and see the VAST amount of complaints about your servers reading off 'specials' mentioning no price and then the customer having sticker shock when they get the bill because the 'specials' pricing is not in line with the regular menu.
Is is without a doubt the #1 complaint about Little Village I have seen here.
If you are real that is..

I doubt they return and search for their restaurant and the poster was quite snappy when s/he thought Will was lying about where he ate. I found that amazing.
Though today's experience was lovely, the response immediately after the experience was not so great, in my mind. I do give credit for the offer of the meal, that night, though and taking the food off the bill.
