I see that.
Well it's kinda odd that the other 2 coaches' bios have been updated, but her's has not

That guy was actually a manager for the team when she was at LSU...he went to Baylor when Glenn Moore left here to go coach, and Sneed ended up there several years later. Story has it they then started dating and got married shortly thereafter (they never dated when they were together at LSU)

Nah...just have followed it since they started it up in the 90's. Was friends with a couple of people in the booster club in the early days, so I got to know some of the players and coaches during the time Sneed and Moore were there. Moore was one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. Lots of good kids/people around the program back then. Girouard is good people too. Sorry to see her go, but I think she just realizes it is her time to move on.

she's not going completely.. remember she sad she would become a pro fan or something of that nature.. i think she realized the fire is startin to fizzle.. guess we'll have to wait until the conclusion of the post season to hear anything official. sure plenty of rumors will be surfacing b/w now and then.. Mulkey to coach softball at LSU

Ummm disqualified, I think not. The level of softball In high school and summer is NOT at the highest level. It's not god awful either, they still have work to do. You obviously have not seen girls softball leagues in California and Arizona to say you don't need any west coast influence. Leagues and facilities for youth, high school and select teams are first class. Florida, Texas and Georgia are getting there.
So, give me an example of the redonkulous development you have seen. Who are top select, youth and high school teams in Louisiana?

LSU waited to long to replace Girouard...LSU softball since 07-08 has a combined record against Florida, Georgia, Tennesse and Alabama of 11-28 with 2 rainouts and one tie. The top recruits are not signing with LSU and all SEC facilities in softball for the most part, especially with the named are equally as nice. LSU has been a poor hitting team since Defeo has arrived and to get recruits away from the top schools in the SEC, want happen overnight. In the past LSU hid their inability to hit with dominating pitching, ie...Hofer and Turner both from Florida. I just don't think we are going to go east and recruit with much success as we have in the past with such good programs as Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

It's perfect timing for coach G to go. I think she can stay on in a bagglio type role with softball in Louisiana. I really feel with USA softball not being in the olympics in 2012 they have lots of team USA players out there who may like to get in college game. A Finch, Mendoza and Whatley type personality Is out there for the taking. I'm sure they can make more coaching then playing in fastpitch league.

sorry, but turner is from california. YG went west to get her. if you look at the cajuns team, they aren't filled with louisiana girls, they go out and recruit them.
as far as softball goes in louisiana, the state is very far behind.....

Sorry about the mistake on Turner...but I think you understand what I meant by LSU losing out on top recruits to the rising powers in SEC softball. ULL may recruit alot out of state also but mostly Texas and Mississippi. The only one from out west I can think of is now a Tiger...Heidi Pizer.

don't get me wrong, when the cajuns see a local player that can compete at the level that the cajun team aspires to play at, they go after her, i just don't think we have that many girls in this state when comparing them to other states.

If you want someone who's a proven winner, why not go for the co-head coaches down the road at ULL (Stefni and Michael Lotief)?
Since Stefni took over in 2001 (with hubby as assistant, then as co-coach in 2003) they've had three WCWS appearances. Read their bios -- she's strong in pitching (and believes that LA and Eastex has a ton of talent) and he's strong in hitting (with elite team coaching experience).
Put those two in a program with facilities and funding (LSU) and maybe the Lady Tigers become the first SEC team to win the WCWS.

i'm not positive, but i really don't see it happening. with all the animosity between the two programs, i don't think money will buy the cajuns coach two times in a row when LSU needs a coach again.
