Russell Shepard is the athlete every team in America would love to have.
Besides the recruiting part which was great, he was more than likely under utilized.
Given the proper place I think he could be a stud on this team.
He has the natural ability.
Why critisize him before his time is up?
Its not like these guys come here and make tons of money, they are here because they LSU.
I stand behind Shep 100%.
Who gives a shite what some asswipe journalist writes or what some rantard thinks.

Guilbeau prints anything that will stir readers interest. One week its bad the next its good.

As far as Flynn, he wasn't the most talented QB in college, he was one of the smartest, good instincts, good knowledge of the game, position.

Shep will be most valuable when defensive schemes overlook him.

Yeah you right, use him like Reggie Bush, throws underneath, in the flat, decoy, its all there. Kragthorpe will make the best use of Shepard, the best is yet to come!

It takes a real loser of a journalist to write off a sophomore student athlete. Pitiful.

He's calling 'em like he sees 'em. Shep attended LSU knowing full well the criticism that comes with it. He hasn't produced. If he does, then you can praise him. But I see nothing wrong with a journalist calling out a perceived misconception among Tiger fans.

It took you almost a full page to jump in to defend JJ-do you need to change the batteries in your pager?
I never, ever, agree with this tool, but GG might have found the proverbial acorn with his QB comments.

Krag needs to use him like the Saints use Bush
Give me a consistent performer instead, thanks.

Sheppard at USC, Texas, Florida or any other top tier school is a heisman candidate. The coaching staff does not know how to use him, Jefferson cannot read defenses and audible the ball to him. Sheppard is an amazing athlete and chose Lsu over every other school. You want to criticize a student athlete who does everything right, attack me Im a man Im 40.

guilbeau was always last picked in kickball and is still not over it.

Don't know if it's been said already or not, but what receiver has had a big impact in the past three years? None. Lafell had a mediocre senior season, Tolliver didn't produce as much as was expected, D. Byrd had a horrible senior season, and randle didn't exactly light the world on fire.

I wonder if ppl hating on RS in this thread are the same ppl that want to fire our basketball coach? Do you people just not watch games? or do you just not understand either sport? A WR has to have a QB that can get him the ball, no matter how good he is. Even on the zone read where we were trying to use RS, JJ kept the ball 95% of the time. Granted we were still getting yards, but there were a lot of those plays where Shep had the outside easy. But, if you watched the games you would know that.

Bush is not an every down back and neither is Shepard, but that doesn't mean Shep can't be used as a change of pace back. Whether its Ware or Ford as the main guy, there is role for Shepard that isn't being utilized.
Bush is only a disappointment because of how much he makes, not because he isn't effective. It's a similar situation with Shep. Just because he isn't living up to his 5 star rating doesn't mean he isn't a valuable asset.

I don't think he's been put in a position to live up to the hype

he hasnt produced like people thought because he is misused.
gary crowton wasnt fire for no reason.
Shep prob leads our team in explosive plays the last 2 years and he rarely touches the ball in our offense. God forbid we come up with creative ways to get him the ball like a good coaching staff would do. We had more plays for Trindon Holliday than we do Shep, and thats a fricking joke.
