This place has excellent vietnamese and thai food. I've had the peanut chicken (the sauce is perfect), the spicy lemon grass chicken (one of the spiciest dishes I've ever had, but very tasty), and the pad thai (excellent flavor). I would recommend all three of these dishes to anyone.

This is the only asian restaurant I've seen actual Asian people at in Shreveport/Bossier.

Well, hell, what a coincidence. I just remembered that my handy man laying a new floor in my storage shed right now is from Thailand.

Just went out and asked him about the place. He said he's been there twice and it's not really Thai, it's Vietnamese. Said is was OK but that his favorite place for Asian food around here is Ming Garden.

Definetly leans more to that direction...Only 5-10 thai dishes.

We have eaten there a few times and thought it was very good. However, the last time we ate there, my son had some kind of allergic reaction and his eye swelled shut. We spent the night at the ER.

Good stuff. Lin's kitchen is also good.

Peanut or seafood would be my guess.

Talked with my handyman again just before he left.
He said there was some kind of conflict between manager and chef and they had to close down during one lunch because the chef didn't show up for work.

He said he expects the place to fail in a few months. He's not going back and I'm not gonna try it.

BTW, he said his second favorite Asian place here was Imperial Cathay.

I'm not a huge fan but it's decent American Chinese food. Having said that though, I like Dahn's, but there is no real upscale Asian place in Shreveport/Bossier. So me saying it is excellent is of course relative.

No, in fact, he has only had two allergic reactions in his life and we really couldn't pinpoint either one. He had some sort of shrimp something or another but he eats shrimp all the time. I was the lone dissenter thinking he probbaly just got soemthing in his eye and kept rubbing it. But my wife assumes the ER doc knows more than me.

After Ming Garden? Ming Garden is just a run of the mill buffet right? We enjoyed Hong Kong City but it is gone now. I can't really think of any buffets that stand out, they are all about the same to me.

Is that the new buffet by Mr Gatti's? If so, their dumplings are awesome.

My bad, I was confusing that with the buffet next to CVS on Youree. I know what you're talking about now.

I think Hong Kong City just reopened. I heard some coworkers talking about going earlier in the week.
(This is not a recommendation, just an observation)

We go because it is the only place I have found pho in Shreveport. It's decent. I wish we some place better.

Have yet to try Ming's Garden, but heard good things.

I like Imperial Cathay if I want cheap, American chinese that I can eat off of for 4 days. They give you so much food.
