Could a coyote jump a 6ft privacy fence?

My daughters cat ran out of the house last night when the dogs went out. About an hour later I heard her screaming ran out to get her. Never saw anything, but early last year had a coyote come into the yard a get one of our cats (no fence then) and didn't know if they might have tried to come back.

If it is a small cat it could have been an owl. My BIL saw a Great Horned Owl kill the family cat.

The coyotes assist each other over with their paws and stuff.

Read they can't jump high fences but they do climb them. Here are some tips for you. LINK

Since you have a fence already you may want to put extenders out to prevent them from climbing it. Don't know how spendy rollers are.

I'll just try to keep the damn cat inside. I was pretty pissed when it ran out. Could have been an owl. Don't think it was a bobcat but won't rule anything out.

Really didn't think a coyote could get over it but wanted to see what yall thought.

I really need to get out there and shoot a few. A .17 and an electric call should do the trick and already have both.

Why are you certain the cat was actually inside the fence when it was screaming? Is the cat still alive? Is the cat fixed?

I know several cattle hurding breds that can cross fences will little to no problem, don't see why a yote couldn't do the same thing.

The cat is pretty lazy.
She's been fixed and has ever tried to climb the fence. I don't think she knows that she can.

She is alive. When I went out she was pretty freaked out and hiding.

My german shepherd used to jump a 6ft chainlink kennel. She would also climb over it sometimes. I dont see why a coyote couldnt do it, but an owl or hawk more than likely got it.

I had a black lab one time for about 2 weeks that could jump/climb our redwood privacy fence. Take a running start jump, hit the top of the fence, and scoot over it. My guess would be if it was a yote he'd have went under, but I suppose it's possible.

Why not just blame a raccoon? sounds more fun than a coyote.

I've had to save one of my parents kittens from a big crane at their pond. He was trying to land on top of it and I'm sure would have just gulped it down.

Can't jump it, but they do develop ways of getting over the fence. Is there an Acme factory located close to your house?
