If you could tweak the lineup...

1. Jones, 2b
2. Hanover, 3b
3. Rhymes, dh
4. Mahtook, cf
5. Nola, ss
6. Katz, rf
7. Edward, 1b
8. Watkins, lf
9. Ross c
Just me. Think it's time we give Jones 5 AB's per game as opposed to 4. I think PM did the smart move by putting him at 9 to start season so that he can adjust. Meanwhile, Florida in 2 weeks and a new 30 game SEC season warrants Jones getting in the leadoff/a different slot. I think it's a necessary move.
If it ain't broke, don't fix...but clearly a .460 hitter at this point vs. a .250 guy needs adjustments. Moving Watkins to the "second cleanup" spot vs. 9 hole would be my suggestion. I know PM likes some pop at the end of the order ala Schimpf in '08, so he may just leave Jnes there. I wouldn't. I'm not a coach, but I did stay at a Plank Road hotel last night.

I would never want Watkins and Ross batting back to back. That would be ugly. I like the lineup the way it is. If watkins doesn't come around, then he should be benched

Watkins needs to at least be put at DH, and let someone else play LF. He is too much of a liability there.

i dont know why we have to tweak the lineup?

Weak 8 and 9 hole hitters are not the way to get you back to the top of the lineup. Since the DH rule came into play the 9 hole hitter has become a very important spot in the lineup. Ross is not that guy IMHO. There's not much PM can do to increase production from the catcher's position but I wouldn't mind seeing some experiments in leftfield.

Obviously you didn't see the catch he made Saturday night. We don't have a lot of depth in the outfield. Taking him out of LF would cause us to lose something on defense. And yes I know he didn't have a good day in the field yesterday.

This. We need to figure this out soon too. With SEC play looming, we need him to start putting out or get out.

Watkins is slumping right now but is our leadoff hitter, fact!
He is the guy that finds ways to get on base and we def need that to begin a game or in later innings. If Jones is moved to the top, this would not be the time. Mahtook batted 8th in 2009 when we won the WS andhe was eating pretty damn well. PM knows what he is doing and Jones might move up to 7th but no higher than that. Rhymes is a beast at the 2 spot, too.
Hanover gets on, which is great because Mahtook follows him in the lineup and can get him home. Putting a pure hitter like Rhymes in front of Mahtook is a mistake and it should not happen.
The lineup should remain the same as it as been all season. I just wish one of the Catchers could step up their hitting/fielding!

If I could tweak the lineup, i'd say "here Coach Mainieri, figure out this lineup thing for me".

Guess Hanover should be put at DH too. He has the worst fielding percentage on the team by a pretty large amount.
Right now our whole defense has been a liability. 19 errors in 12 games doesn't bode well.

you don't bat Ross last even though he hasn't been hitting well you bat Watkins last and use him as a second lead off.

id keep watkins in leadoff spot
id like to see Jacoby or Nola hit 2 hole.
move Rhymes to 3rd
Katz up to 5th
Hanover 6th
nola or jacoby 7th
edward 8th
ross 9th
