I'm just posting what I was told. It came from Toliver's mouth to my friend. From my friend to me. Like I said, you don't have to believe it. There is no reason that my buddy would make this up just to have a story to tell.

This is a message board, where the majority of things talked about are probably speculative. So if you get bent out of shape about my post...maybe you should go find an encyclopedia to read; everything in there is factual.

Pretty new here aren't you? People make up shite here all the time. I bet you believed the Gruden house hunting rumors too.

Just so you know I believe the 14 times part. I mean a kid that bitches out his head coach is bound to remember exactly the number of times he said it.

I don't see how he was "given" the ball without earning it over someone who had earned it more. JL hasn't done anything on the field to earn a starting job last year.

Well nothing except be thrown in the fire in do or die situations and save our (and JJ's) asses two weeks in a row. We don't have Lee we lose, period.

if uncommon cents disagrees I've learned to just go the opposite way. You'll be right 100% of the time. I guess what I'm saying is that the guy is fricking dumber than pj

I've lurked for a while. I just don't post much on the rant. Especially during the season...this place us almost unbearable then.

Also said that he told Miles 14 times last season that he was just "giving" JJ the ball and that he hadn't earned it.

I can believe that. Tolver had a payday hanging in the balance

I think you made your point. Without a link to a reputable media outlet, you will not believe any "my friend told me" story. That's your prerogative and one you have made abundantly clear. It is also very obvious that not everything that goes on behind close doors is reported in reputable media outlets (nor should they be).

All that being said, while I take the OP's post with a grain of salt, I enjoy reading posts like this and, if properly caveated, have no problem with them. I think the OP was pretty open about the credibility of his source. He told you his relationship to the team and you can judge for yourself.

In short, let's all focus more on taking things in the context in which they arrive and less focused on demanding that the story be bylined Kirk "Miles to Michigan" Herbstreit in order to be deemed acceptable.

To the OP, thanks for sharing. My personal take is that Toliver was probably frustrated with JJ these past two seasons and it colors his perception of Mettenberger. If I'm right, I both think Toliver has a point and yet ought to have been more focused at making lemonade out of the JJ lemon and not let those limitations influence his play (i.e., drops).

Good night!

That makes your statement even more nonsensical, lol.

So you're claiming it was certain that Lee would have a mental lapse after "one good pop"?
Wow.

This was a good post Mike. You could see open frustration from TT and RS at times when the divot from JJ's pass hitting at their feet got dirt in their eyes. RR is so poker faced, it would be hard to tell if he was frustrated or not, but he saw a lot of airmail deliveries when he was wide open.

As for the drops, yeah, there were a few that should have been caught, but it can cause one to lose focus when the passes are so rarely on target. And for many of those drops, the pass hit their hands, but the WR had to stop, or reach back, or otherwise alter their stride, making the catch more difficult. He rarely threw a pass in a position where the receiver could catch it in stride and make a play.

Yeah because Lee came in and threw for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns everytime he replaced JJ. News flash for the retarded he had no other option now he does.

I heard at one point that for the first 2 weeks Mett was on campus, JJ never once spoke to him or helped him out in any way. Also heard Met was working on foot work for 2 hours a day dor 2 weeks. They said JJ has NEVER done anything like that.

Why does anyone ever make up a story like this?

Attention, the need to feel important or interesting, a hidden agenda?

It happens all the time.

I never believe any of this shite unless I hear it first hand. It's likely that your buddy is full of shite and likes to hear the sound of his own voice. The background on this dude doesn't sound much better than a guy that runs a comics store. It's comical.
