My first choice would be SuperSwamper TSL's BUT i hear the really lack in tread life. This is basically a summer/weekend car driving around city/country roads and the weekend offroad trips.

Also any info about the best/cheapest place to get these in the BR area would be appreciated. I want to run 33x12.5x15.

1. SuperSwamper TSL

Next choice is a tie between the BFG MT KM2's and the Goodyear MT/R's. How do the KM2's compare to the original KM's. I think both of these would be cheaper and last longer than the Swampers.

2. KM2

2. MT/R

I also wouldnt be apposed to go the cheaper tire route with something along the lines of Buckshot or Nitto Trail or Mud Tires. What do you know about these.

3. Buckshot

3. Nitto Trail

3. Nitto Mud

any other recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

ETA: i want to get something put on this week.

Did Goodyear change the tread pattern on the MT/Rs? Those look different. But they were always my favorite tire. Never owned them personally, but only heard good things.

Swampers are cool as shite an are awesome off road, but they won't last long if you do any street driving.

I usually stay away from Buckshots and the lower tier tires, as they tend to wear pretty bad as well.

Nitto makes a less expensive, but quality tire in the A/T, I'm not sure about the M/Ts though.

I'm also a huge fan of the redesigned BFG M/T, that's a bad arse tire

I run KM2s right now and LOVE them. They ride great on the road and pull very well in the mud. Probably the best tire I've ever owned. If money isn't a factor, look up the super swamper SSRs. They are a suped up super swamper designed for longer tread life. I've had wrangler MTRs (old style) and they were great in mud, but the tread life wasn't very good and they got all cupped up and wobbly in a hurry. Buckshots are not great, but they aren't bad. They handle decently on the road and pull decent in the mud. They are a very good tire for the price.

IMO, super swamper SSRs are the best out there, KM2s are the best for a guy with a little bit of a budget, and buckshots or wild country XTRs for somebody on a tight budget.

ETA: the SSR's seem to run pretty close to the nitto mud grapplers, in which case I wouldn't even think about the nitto due to the almost non-existent selection of sizes. I don't think they make a 33/1250/r15

They really have a bad rep for not lasting very long and being a rough ride on the road.

I've got 33" Cooper MT's on mine and they perform well both on and off road. My buddy has the Firestone MT's on his (33's also), and he has no complaints.

surely, i've always driven F250's since i started driving, i'm on third one now, all the same weight, body and cab style, i've had stock tires, SSR, buckshots, and mud grapplers. the mud grapplers have lasted the longest on my current truck by about 15k miles, i have about 80k on these nittos, they are great tires and are not overly loud on the hwy.

Yes, they changed.

We are both getting new tires this week for our Jeeps. If the MT/Rs were the same, I would 1000% get them. I don't know about the new tres pattern tho.

I had some 265/75R16 MT/Rs on a 4wd ranger in college and I loved them.

I run TSL's on my jeep, but it gets VERY limited road use. If you go with Swampers nobody can beat Lightline on price for them.

For a driver the KM2s are hard to beat they seem to wear really well and do really good off-road. I haven't seen the new MT/r on the trail yet, but I am sure, like the old MR/r, it will suck for southern wheeling and rule the rocks. both of these tires are going to be the most expensive more then the swamper if i recall.

The nitto trail is a really good tire on the trail and the street and are cheaper than the KM2 and MT/R.

Are you talking about the clips on the back or along the windshield frame?

I may have some of the bolts and square flat washers that run along the back channel of the hardtop somewhere in my shop if you are interested in them.

On the front I used to use a twisting butterfly latch that would pull the top down tight and keep air out.
