That's what I like about being as well equiped as possible in home defense situations. If I hit someone in the gut from 10ft with a 12 guage, there isn't a whole lotta wondering if your safe at that point.

You are probably a better shot than most people. For someone who does not regularly handle a gun, a 410 pistol would be a more effective home defense weapon than a high caliber pistol.
