Anybody have the Judge pistol?
My friend is looking at one for sale and asked me about them.I don't know anything about this gun.
Looks to be a new "Polymer Composite" model out now.

DO
NOT
BUY
It is nothing more than a gemmick gun. You buy a pistol or you buy a shotgun, not something trying to be both. A .410 round has been proven to be inadequate in home defense situations and a .45 long colt is the last thing I wanna have to shoot several of in a tense situation.

It may not be the most ideal home defense gun around but it has many more applications to people who may find themselves out in the woods. Besides.. I'd much rather my gf shot a pattern at someone if they break in then a single shot. I know I'd be nervous myself if I had to shoot anyone. two, or three, large groupings are enough to deter someone(or kill).

he's right. a 410 round of buckshot to the mouth only tickles late at night

You do realize the .410 pattern coming out of that thing isn't going to be much larger than 1" if that right? People have these misconceptions that anything called a shotgun is a "scattergun". You arent going to get this glorious 3ft spread from a .410 at 3 yards.

I went in with him yesterday to look at it and it does not have a barrel.
The chamber is about 4" long and the barrel is 2".
Looking at the .410 shell with OO buckshot the rounds are stacked one behind the other.
Can't be real accurate.

That's one of the problems with this "gun". A ton of buzzle energy is lost with the round leaving the gun so quickly. I've seen pics of .410 00 pellets that have been fired out of a judge. Most are all smashed and mishaped from smashing into each other in the "barrel" when it's fired.
but be prepare, a few people on here think it's the best thing since the advent of the modern firearm.

yea cause a .45LC is going to make a follow up shot real easy and accurate.

Seriously. The judge isn't a great self defense weapon and may not even be a good one. The information is out there.
Here's a question for all you judge koolaide drinkers. How many other "selfdefense" weapons do you see chambered in those rounds? Anything the judge can do, another revolver can do better.

also, google ".410 home defense" and then google "12 guage home defense, .45 home defense, etc etc etc...." and tell me why all the negative debate toward the judge and the .410.

ok guys, listen to what I'm saying.. This is THE reason for my buying the Judge.. It is for the wife. SHE is a pretty good shot with a pistol, she also has a 357.. BUT, in case an intruder ever breaks in on her and I'm not there.. SHE has someting within arms reach on her bedside table that she can point and shoot, in the dark, and even with adrenalin, nerves, anxiety, etc. etc.,, I feel confident that SHE can run somebodys arse out of the room, without having to "aim" for a vital area, when she may or may not be able to see..That's my reason for HER to have that gun.. I prefer my 12 gauge, for ME...
