I stopped reading here.

I cannot possibly agree with this statement.

CALL THE GAME YOUR ATHLETES CAN EXECUTE, NOT THE ONE YOU WISH THEY COULD.

The real problems that need to be addressed are the quarterback and the offensive line. The team needs a good developer of quarterbacks, and better technique is needed in the offensive line (on a consistent basis).
Crowton could make offensive adjustments, but they didn't show because of the lack of execution.
We might also want to look at the wide receivers coach---I noticed a difficulty of our receivers getting open at times.

WTF?!?!?!

Isnt the offensive coordinator supposed to be pretty good a coaching quarterbacks? Hell if JJ was taught correctly then he wouldnt hold the ball for 5 seconds. An NFL line couldnt stop ULL players when the quarterback doesnt move around in the pocket and stands there for 5,6.7 seconds.

It's Gary's job to develop the QB.

Irony.

Excuses. Make the scheme fit your talent, not the talent fit your scheme.

Fail. Gary was putting the WR's on the field.

Your post shows a real lack of serious thought and research.

The bottom line is that he didn't have the personnel to run the offense he was trying to run. A good OC would have adjusted his offense to fit his players.

why did he suck (after year 1) at BYU and Oregon?

crowton required that he coach QBs, so this is a problem crowton created

Crowton never consistently put his quarterbacks in a good position for them to succeed.

He was the problem.

Sorry man...you arent always going to have a stead at the QB position

When you dont you need to develop an offense that works best with what you have, not having a matt flynn is not an excuse to have the 112 ranked offense...there are no reasonable excuses for that at this level of football

I'm thinking Crowton wasn't the entire problem. I've been a harsh critic of Miles but I'm not putting the entire blame on his shoulders.

Miles is at fault for bringing in someone who clashed with his philosophy. I think they share fault because neither half of the shitty offense worked.

The major problem. The addition of Ben Wilkerson helped the O-Line improve and I think we will see more improvement when "Stud" moves on to Memphis with Porter. That will be the next coaching change.

First of all, the notion that there was just one problem seems fallacious anyway.

I agree that GC was a good playcaller and ran a good offense when he had the right kind of talent. His main limitations seem to be that he is not flexible enough to adapt to lesser talent levels and that he is not able to coach up that talent to make it better. No question that he was handcuffed the last few years by poor QB play and I'm a little curious whether Mettenberger would enable a return to 2007 form for Gary. However, as bad as our QBs have been, I still don't think he was getting all the potential out of them that he could. And in 3 years neither of them really seemed to improve much except that JJ did start playing somewhat better at the end of this year, and especially in the bowl game. I just think that he has his style which requires a certain kind of player. We didn't have that type of player and so he was at a loss how to get the best out of what we did have.
