What did ESPN say that was incorrect?

When I watched sportcenter at 8am, Schad told me that Miles would go to Michigan if offered, and that Michigan wanted Miles. He said that both parties were moving forward and that he "expected this deal to get done as early as today." Whether you believe his "Michigan wants Miles" conjecture was wrong, or you think his "Miles will go" source was wrong; it did not go down the way ESPN reported it would.

If Michigan flying two jets down to BR and Dallas wasn't enough to prove ESPN wrong, then idk what would. They ran with it, and failed. Schad, Herbstreit, and pudge man himself, Chris Low went on about how Les was leaving AND conveniently throwing in that LSU fans don't appreciate their coaches. Bc you know, we should overlook someone's inability to manage the clock...idiots. I'm glad Les is back, even happier that ESPN was wrong.

Each time, ESPN threw in one extra UNNECESSARY detail that made the story unbelievable.

2007: John Tenuta as DC.
2011: LSU waives the buyout.

Why would they add that in? Seems foolish to believe or report that.

ESPN was 100% right. My sources tell me the meeting went something like this:

Brandon: "Hi Les, how's it going?"
Miles: "Fine, what brings you to Baton Rouge?"
Brandon: "Well, we sure would like you to be the next head coach at the University of Michigan."
Miles: "Really? Everyone knows that's always been something of a dream job for me."
Brandon: "Well Les, if we offered you the position, would you take it?"
Miles: "I've always been a Michigan Man, and I have a real want to be your next head coach. Of course I'd accept if you offered."
Brandon: "Okay then, I guess that settles that. Even though we both agree and really want this, I think I'll leave instead of offering you the job. Thanks for your time coach."
Miles: "Stop by any time, and good luck with your search."

Shame on you all for not believing Joe Schad.

Probably means Michigan wasn't going to offer him the money. Miles may have wanted to go to Michigan but he wanted to get paid as well. If Michigan offered a contract of 3-4 million why would he go when LSU was willing to offer him a raise, or why would he take a pay cut? Michigan could have included clauses that Miles did not like either and would not remove them.

They could have then flown down for a face to face meeting to see if they could talk him out or iron out some kinks. Apparently neither side budged so therefore it wasn't a "commitable" offer for Les.
