I sat in the LSU endzone on the 10 row. But it was mostly Aggie fans. I'd say it was 60 / 40 Aggie fans

it was definitely 60/40. not sure why this knucklehead saying tiger fans don't travel well is still claiming it was a poor turnout

40% of 83k = 33k. that's a damn strong traveling team for a meaningless bowl game

Yeah, we're silent when our offense is on the field so they can make calls, etc.

I was in Section 303 and it appeared the stadium was 65% Aggies. I'm going to assume my side of the stadium was at least 90% Ags. One of the end zones was 95-100% Ags. The end zone next to the LSU band was probably 60% Ags, with the upper sections being 80% LSU. The LSU side was probably around 20% Ags.

That said, I was impressed by how many LSU fans there were in the stands, 'cause yeah, the SEC having to wait 'til after their championship game to declare bowl games (as was my understanding of the late LSU announcement) allowed a bunch of Aggies to purchase tickets to the game on both sides.

I thought the 12th Man did a great job to start the game, but began to trail off later in the game. Y'all may not like this, but the only LSU section that appeared rowdy all game was the band. In the 4th quarter and at the end of the game there was a 400s-level section in the end zone that seemed to have a bunch of rowdy LSU fans. Considering how outnumbered y'all were, I thought y'all made a good deal of noise.

The LSU fans seated to my left were good neighbors throughout the game. I enjoyed hearing their perspective and even laughed at the stark contrast in reactions from play to play.

A&M found out six days prior. Six days. OOOOOHHHH. That argument isn't valid, it's not like they knew in August.

No way was there 25k.

You can't count those because it is not really "traveling" if it is in-state, is it?

Why not? There is stubhub, ticketcity, etc. That's how I get mine.

The Florida Bowls are a logistic nightmare for Tiger fans. It's no wonder the SEC e and Bama teams turn out better when they are 500 miles closer.

Try flying.

I hope to see all of you who disagree with me in Arlington on Sept 3rd, but I will probably be in Section 332, looking at how Oregon either matched or outnumbered us at a "neutral" site that isn't exactly neutral.

It wasn't 60-40. It was 70-30 at best. The majority of the posters in this thread are calling it 70-30, it's not just me.

A meaningless bowl game? I don't know about you, but I was proud to see the Fightin' Tigers take on an old rival and beat them by 17 points. Any time you can take your team to a place like the DFW and go after highly sought after recruits isn't a meaningless experience. We beat the 18th ranked team in the nation by three scores in front of 10 million viewers, now that to me seems like an outstanding way to end the season.

Only an uneducated fan would call this game meaningless.

Damn dude, get the sand out. Everyone realizes you have an agenda here.

Oh, and it was definitely closer to 60/40.

I'd re-read the thread if I were you. It looks like the majority are saying at 60/40.

What is with your agenda to say LSU doesn't travel well? We travel very well for the third time.
Every game I've attended in the last 8 years or so the opposing fans compliment LSU on how it's one of their favorite team to play at home because they bring a ton of fans and they are passionate.

Even saying the Arkansas game was pitiful is just false. You're the only person I've heard saying this. That was the toughest away game ticket hands down this year. I was there on about the 5 yard line 10 rows up and every section we were alloted was solid purple and gold. Unlike you I don't expect LSU fans to pay 2 or 3 x face value on StubCrap to go to a crappy stadium in Little Rock. That's all you can ask for out of them.

Also, you said LSU returned their allotment of "Standing Room Only" tickets to the Cotton Bowl. Well hell yeah. It's a shitty gimmick ticket. I'm not traveling 8 hours to stand up 10 rows deep in the second level of the endzone so I can watch it on TV. I'll watch the game on my couch for free if that's the case.
If LSU brought at a minimum of 35% to the game that's almost 30k. You can't ask much more out of a fanbase especially considering how the ticket market worked out with A&M knowing a week in advance.

In Atlanta they estimated between 25k-35k fans for the UNC game, and that number seems about right too since we had about half of the dome filled up.

You're numbers are flawed and I don't know why you're harping on this. LSU does travel well and again will bring 25-30k to the Oregon game next year.

Do you think it's a coincidental that LSU keeps being invited to play in neutral sites 8 hours from their hometown? No. It's because they know LSU will bring the fans, and they have.

Probably 60/40 aggies - I have a recording of the LSU crowd noise leading up to the fight song - we were louder! I'll try to post it, but it's pretty big....

I don't see how one could say we don't travel well. Seattle was unbeleivable, Chick-fil-A game was huge, CottonBowl still carried plenty considering the late notice.

Why would you buy your tickets from Stubhub, ticketcity? Do you enjoy paying a $200.00 profit per ticket to the seller?

LSU is a great traveling school. I don't know what else you could ask for?? I guess I'll see you in JerryWorld, Knoxville, and WV next year.

My agenda is to make sure we get more than 20,000 to show up for the Oregon game on Sept 3rd, and to ensure we travel better in the future. Probably won't get that accomplished on such a small platform as this, but if I had an agenda, that's it.

You guys are drinking the purple and gold kool-aid, and that's fine. You obviously didn't go to Little Rock. That turnout was pathetic. UNC was not as good as you say, and I would say 70-30 is the unbiased consensus for the Cotton Bowl.

Geaux Tigers, and I hope to see you in Dallas, Knoxville, Starkville, and Oxford next year. If you make it up to WV, you're AWESOME.

Pete! Your a douchebag! (This is Lynn) I was at Arkansas with YOU! I'll be @ Oregon (Jerry World) - be sure to bring your Oregon buddy that was in Little Rock so we can rag his arse.

You've been a Negatiger lately, telling me ATM will beat us and crap! Then claiming Oregon will win! GTFO!

Hopefully I can make Oxford, but it's not a priority b/c well I can do that game everyother year.

BTW you know we haven't paid obscene amounts for tickets! I wouldn't pay Stubhub for their ripoffs! Although I don't mind paying a premium every now and then.

QUIT DRINKING THAT TEXAS TEA!

Also, Pete, I want you to see this: LINK /

I've been talking about this for years!

What's up Lynn! I had to trade in my Saleen for a Chevy Cobalt because it was a piece of crap!

Yeah, you did your part in traveling last year. Are you going to Knoxville next year? I can't wait to go. I hear there isn't a bad seat in Neyland Stadium.

Finally got to read the link, that is awesome.

Exactly. Couldn't have been more than 30% Tiger fans.

Considering recent events with the program and the expected excitement for the upcoming season, I'm adjusting my earlier prediction for the numbers in Dalls for the Oregon game. I'm guessing >65% LSU. This will be the most anticipated season since 07 and there will be even higher levels of optimism with a new QB and OC being brought in. You also have to take into account the Oregon following. Even at the national title game in Glendale, you could see clear sprinklings of orange and blue on the Oregon side. There will be a contingent of fans that don't want to pay to travel to see their team get mandhandled on the lines again.

I spoke to an Auburn fan at the hotel here in Austin last night and he said it was 60/40 Auburn fans. That's about how it looked on TV. I expect the same for the LSU-UO game on Sept 3rd.

And Oregon didn't get manhandled, it was tied until the final second of the game.

I agree with you in the sense that this will be the most anticipated season since 2007. Every four years since 2003, LSU goes to the BCS Nat'l Championship, which just happens to be played in New Orleans.

I think anything under 40k for the Oregon game will be a disappointment. You have to think about the Shreveport fans, Dallas and Houston fans coming up. Austin should have a pretty big convoy of Tiger fans heading up I-35 as well.
