Interviewing or agreeing to be talked to by Miles is the courteous thing to do. Once he is interviewed and turns the job down, recruiting is helped, because his speech will be:
"The dream job of my life, Michigan, was available to me. I talked to them and I have decided to stay here, because I think that this is the best job in America. I turned them down and I am committed to staying here as long as LSU will have me."

Flight plan not filed yet. Could be weather related or could be that they don't know if they are going back to Ann Arbor with Les or going to fly to San Diego when Les says no thanks.

I respectfully disagree, though I hope you are right.
No way Michigan lets things get this far if Les turns them down and makes that kind of announcement.
No way Michigan risks losing face like that.

I know that Lloyd Carr retired back in July. Does he no longer have any influence on this hire? I thought there was bad blood between he and Miles.
It is speculation that his influence is less with DB than it was with Martin. However he still has influence with Mary Sue Coleman. This is the faction fighting we have.

Agreed, Michigan does not want to lose face now. But, we are talking about the Mad Hatter!! He has a plan, he always does..lol

You think Les could put together a sentance like that?

You do know that not many people are going to actually know about using flightaware to track the plane that the Michigan AD is on right? Harbaugh was much more high profile and they survived that, including other coaches telling them no. He may or may not go, but it isn't like this is some special case with them actually meeting with him.

At 2:46 coordinates 30.72N, 88.43W put plane over extreme northeast Jackson County, Mississippi, north of Pascagoula and just west of Mobile County, Alabama line. Should arrive soon.
I wish Coach Miles and the LSU Nation well.

I think they had to know Harbaugh was a longshot from the outset.
The word is out nationally that CLM is going to "talk" to UM--Miles, the guy who has said Michigan was his "dream" job.
If Miles turns them down, UM will indeed lose face.
... which is why I have to conclude it's already a done deal for that Lear to be touching down again in BTR.
I hope I'm wrong.
