Cooked a pork roast in one last weekend. Stuffed and seasoned the outside, 2.5 hours internal temp was 165. Came out pretty dang good outer skin was awesome.

thats what i was most concerned about was cook time. i did do a search and every review i found said that it takes longer than traditional cooking. i figure, i could foil over the lid and that should keep most of the heat in. thanks. what else have you cooked in there?

No need to foil the lid. Just put in your probe thermometer. There is a reason the "lid" is an open grid. Even cooking and browning.

Do you have the fryer that holds 2 gals or 5 gals of oil?

Chickens, turkeys, pork loins, pork roast so far.
Hoping to do a ribeye roast in the near future.
Yeah I wouldn't put foil over the lid. Cook time was a little less than when we do a pork roast in the oven.
Another big plus is the no clean up in the kitchen.

Boyfriend borrowed an oilless turkey fryer from someone he works with. The turkey was moist/tender and delicious!
